The whole Motortrend readership is going to believe the EVO is quicker than the STI. (even if it isn't). And all our homies that can read will be now spout "Yo...... da EVO is quicker 'cause Motortrend showed da numbers... " Even if it isn't! Na na na na!!!

..if it means a few less people on the STI waiting lists then that suits me just fine.. I'm #26 in line..

as far as i am conserned both cars have similar performance...which one is faster does not matter to me

i want an Evo and thats my choice cause the Evo has better handling and better brakes from everything i have heard and read...all out HP and accel don't turn my crank as much as handling

also i don't like that damn scoop, wing and headlights on that STi neither

Sorry guys, but I had to post this at the COBB website. You know I wish that forum still held as much of my attention as this one now does. It just seems like every thread after 10 posts develops into nonsensical $*I^. I hope that doesn't happen here. There is also the issue of STI worshipping, which I can understand, but don't follow. Besides any car company that puts a presss gag in effect deserves a few cut downs!! STI

Obviously you weren't around before the Evo launch when there was press gags in effect at that time - from MMC.

Cheers,

Relax you guys! I'm kidding of course. How many times do you have to be told that both cars are awesome? We (EVO owners) are just killing time by DRIVING our cars and ribbing the future STI owners. We are all pioneering these cars and writing the FAQ's today that will be read by 1000's of EVO and STI owners in the future! I'm excited about both cars and look forward to meeting STI owners. This is a great time for American car enthusiast..... lets enjoy it!

let's get this damn article scanned... who has a digi cam and/or a scanner?

what's so hard to understand?

these cars are about equal in price, about equal in numbers... meaning the comparo's will be really close...

what a bunch of babies!

This is hilarious!!

We have cross threads within crossed forums within crosswebsite! This is un-natural and I wonder if, like in Ghost Busters if we get just the right combination of crossed threads and forums (i.e. crossing the beams), life as we know it will cease to exist.

Gosher?......

An evo 0-60 in 4.59 secs.

Common now folks, smells like a press ringer to me, as much I like the car, the stock car will not do that.

P.S. How was that evo so fast, was it driven by a miget? Also it would be intresting to see the top speed of each gear for the STi.
Actually, those Subaru guys have access to something far better than any "bolt on." It appears the WRX ECU has been "cracked" and there's no evidence to suggest that the new WRX STi is radically (or even significantly [ignoring the AVCS]) different. I'd give a lot of money to be able to re-program the stock Evo ECU to my specifications. It'd be worth a boatload of "bolt ons."

But, back on topic:
I, too, must wonder at those times achieved by this magazine's tester. They're significantly better than any reported in this forum. And it's not as if only a single Evo owner has tried the quarter.

Mmmmmm!

Wonder which ringer is faster, the SCC ringer or the MT ringer. If I owned an EVO right now I'd be just a LITTLE bit unhappy with 's policy regarding ringers. And is by far NOT the only company to send out ringer cars to the press.

Maybe Subaru needs to start being dishonest just like most other car companies. On second thoughts...maybe not.

It's a matter of principal, thats all. Some people have them and some don't...
