what do you want to know exactly? that diagram pretty much explains the connections, the tricky part is connecting the trigger wire to the reverse light wire.

It’s a fair bit of work to do it properly, you will need to take out the scuff plates along the bottom of the door sills to run the cable through the car, also need to remove the rear seat, and remove all of the lining in the boot (yes I’m Australian and call the trunk a boot).

The reverse light wire was white in my car, but it might be best to double check, follow it back from the reverse light bulb (requires removing lining in the boot lid also).

I stripped the wire back near this big plug, and soldered to connect them, you will need to do positive (white) and ground (black). I unplugged the wiring harness and detached the wires from the inside of the boot so they were more accessible for soldering.

Then feed the cables through to the outside of the car (I fed them through this rubber grommet, had to drill another hole into it).

I ran the cable and did all the connections along the passengers side (left). not sure what would work best for you.

I'm in the US, I watched all the European car shows like Wheeler Dealer, Top Gear and Grand Tour. I'm used to the Boot the Bonnet. haha

These photos will help with installing the Reverse Camera. Didn't think there would be that much involved. If I knew better I would have gotten a Wifi rear view camera. Hope the wires are long enough to run to the front.

Thanks for the help Damo.

Just installed mine over the weekend! Loving it so far. Its a tad slow on the start up side, but once its warmed up it works pretty well. Sounds waaaaay better than the stock unit and it looks absolutely incredible. Non-RF install was plug and play, very simple. No forward facing camera (yet), and no plan to install a reverse camera. It's a bit dim on really sunny days, but you're still able to see it - and it gets pretty dim for night driving - which is nice, so it doesn't blind you with the giant screen.

I'm using PowerAmp as my music player for USB(iPod) and Spotify on mobile hotspot. Downloaded MTCD Tools to allow the next/prev Steering Wheel Controls to work with PowerAmp/Spotify - since by default it seems it will only work with the native music app. So far so good, trying to figure out how to map the MODE button so it will scroll through only the apps I want.

I'm trying to find a solid XDA page for these head units. The MCU version on mine is MTCD_HA, but I haven't been very successful in finding a sub forum for it...I'm not sure if they are all MTCD, (it seems that the D series is fairly new?) or if they are all made by HA(HotAudio). If anyone knows, please share!

MTCD does seem to be newer, as my unit shows MTCB. Could you take pics comparing your specs to mine?

MTCD units Only:
In case anyone else is wondering, I finally figured out how to use the mode button to scroll between desired apps. I'm using it to scroll between Waze / Spotify / PowerAmp.

1 - Go to the wheelkey study app, set the MODE button to CD
2 - Use MTCD Tools to bind the MODE button to the Mode action
3 - Set your custom mode application list to whatever apps you want to scroll through

Setting the MODE button to CD is the only way I could find that it would still register a button press without performing an action - thus allowing MTCD Tools to do its thing.

And one more photo of it

Now does anyone have a good phone app, the one I have is unable to get my contact imported into it. Or one that can read your text messages.

I just recently bought the head unit to replace my factory Mmcs. One of the features I liked about that was the maintenance records that gave you a date and miles left for various things like oil changes. Does anybody know of an android app (iPhone user) that has this ability?

The maintenance info shows up on the dashboard display. Do you lose that functionality when you install an Android HU?

I know what you're referring to, but I was talking about the maintenance tracking on the actual head unit. Those with the touch screen display can keep track of various maintenance items. Like the example below.
