I just got the AP and installed it yesterday. I was trying to check the boost and was wondering do you take the boost reading it gives and subtract the barometric pressure reading? Also, there was a third boost reading (i think absolute). It was reading like 5.3, what is that?
Im also curious on how close to real numbers the dyno estimater is on that thing. If you are on a perfectly flat road and did say 5 runs with it and averaged them, would it be a pretty reliable set of numbers?
What other indications would you be looking at to see if the car has accepted the thing well.
1) I already think I should be looking to be sure the boost is hitting the stated max and taper numbers
2) The knock count? I ran the car for an hour normal and high rpm. Got 1 count while running normal at around 2500 rpm.
3) Advance? Dont have a clue what readings are telling me here or how I should take them.

Boost Pressure = Absolute Pressure - Barometric Pressure

From Cobb Forums:
Hi everyone, my name is Chris, and I am the engineer working on this bug. I apologize for the AP displaying inaccurate values for Boost Pressure. The fix will be up very soon.

To be exact:
Boost Pressure = Absolute Pressure - Barometric Pressure

The problem has been diagnosed to the AP failing to get the correct Barometric value, only if paired with Absolute Pressure, from the ECU. That is, Absolute Pressure and Barometric Pressure individually work great, but when polled together, baro falls out. The 5.8 psi value is the default value the AP shows in the event of an unintelligible barometric value.

Again, sorry for the confusion and inaccuracy, I am wrapping up the solution as we speak.

-Chris

Any Info or Experiences: Perrin Stg.1 vs. Cobb Stg.1 93oct

I just ordered a Cobb Acessport Tuner with Cobb Stage 1 map & Perrin Stage 1 Map. Does anyone have experiences with either of these maps and how they compare against each other. Any input is greatly appreciated. Which produces more numbers or better drive ability etc...

Ton of talk about this but most say the Perrin had better low end torque and Cobb is upper horsepower.

Really? Ill have to try it. Were you running the most recent cobb map before switching to the perrin? Id like to see the results of a poll of cobb stage1 vs perrin stage 1.

perrin pulls harder all around. not to knock cobb there is more HP on the top end. but i prefer the thrill of more torque.

Hey Rob, any idea how soon we can expect maps for intakes? I know you're only doing them for specific ones like AMS, but I'm getting kinda antsy Thanks!

Order from Hybrid-R, (they are a vendor here). They are based in BC so it'll be fast to ship to you. Plus I think they have some good deals going right now!

I believe one of the intake calibrations is complete or about complete. Tim is currently working on the documentation for that map. Keep your eyes peeled for further details as it may be going into beta soon.

Are we talking today/tomorrow or like weeks on the time frame of this? The only mod I have is a AP and want to get a intake as my next mod. You could PM me what make it is so I can buy it and I won't tell anyone
