EVOX sleeved block

Stopped by Justice Racing Engines today and they had this sitting on the bench for a customer...

and another picture...

block still has to be decked/bore/honed/aligned honed/etc...

but this is the first 4B11 Sleeved block with Darton sleeves, so i figured i would share...

also has JRE spec'd Manley rods and CP Pistons...

here's a photo of one of the rods...

If you are looking for EVOX engine work, Justice Racing Engines might be worth a call... looks like they are already ahead of the 'game'

Ill stick to the 4g63.. Main reason i have no faith in the 4b11 in a high HP application is that right there..

thats similar to the Nissan and Honda set ups that make big power, I see no issue with it.

Yeah when the sleeves warp and / or shift youll see the problem.. I am not saying its a problem with darton themselves..I am saying its a problem with making big power which is not a problem on a cast iron block..

I've always been of the mind set that when your looking to make big power, buy the right platform (notice the 03 cobra in my "drives" list....)

Sure 03' cobra is great car.. Sure feels good though when the wrong platform pulls up and whips on the cobra though.. On the street though the EVO is the right platform..

wow. shows how simple minded you are. if you don't move forward, you'll be following. i would prefer a cast block all day. but if it has to be sleeved, ok. np. sleeves have come a long way.

Im not close minded.. I am realistic.. my $36k car isnt ready to have the motor out yet anyway and i am not looking forward to dealing with aluminum motor problems.. The fastest cars in the world are still running on old proven technology.. call me old fashioned..

Nice pics. I don't think I'll ever have to do this since I don't plan on making the kind of power needed for this.

Sweet Set-up!!!

Looks like he is doing it all out!

Its all in the build and the tune.

After building my 350z and friends sleeving theirs, we are at the same horse power (600 hp). PLUS, I beat mine up all day on the street and track. They don't. I could build two motors for the price of their sleeved. Will the sleeved hold more power? Sure; but the question really is are you going to go BEYOND what the OEM block can hold. To me, Sleeves will hold a crappy tune longer. Other then that, it about the internals, build specs, and tune.

I would RATHER get cheaper rodz, then a cheaper builder/tuner.
