Evo X official paint issues/problems thread {merge}
1,500 Miles and no chips.

Question... What are the road conditions where people are driving and noticing a lot of marks? i.e. (rural roads, lots of construction sites (For those who live in the Mid-West and North East), etc.

The rockers on my OB X are already trashed. I decided to say **** it as I hate mudflaps. It's not a freaking rally car. I'll make the dealer repaint it in 3 years when it's down to bare metal. Or they can fix it now by repainting that section and clear-bra-ing it for free. Clearly a factory defect. I'll pay nothing out of pocket to fix or solve this cause I honestly don't care much... but if I can get it fixed for free, I'm all for it.
I wonder how it would look to do the clear bra stuff on the entire car. hmmm
anyway, this is gonna suck a lot for me since by the time i can afford an evo it's gonna be a few years old at least. It's gonna look horrible. even by used car standards.

The evo IS a car to be driven, but I would have considered price of a paint job with the cost of the car if I knew it would b this bad.
I went to the dealer and complained. They said it should not be that way. It looks sandblasted on the skirts and rear door. Not to mention the hood and front clip. A few chips i could understand. But i dont rally race in dirt. I drive on roads in a city.
I contacted Mitsu today and they opened a case file. Someone will be calling me tomorrow. I'll keep everyone informed of any changes or new paint jobs hopefully.

Talked to corporate Mitsu and they heard me out. Now waiting for another decision hopefully by next weeks end. If they say no, then I just go higher in the chain of command. Thanks for the support guys.
so has anyone successfully made a warranty claim on this issue? my car's 2 weeks old and i drive on relatively smooth roads. so far only to work and back. I washed my car this weekend and noticed about 8 or so tiny chips on the bottom rear of both rear doors. i want to bring it up to the dealer, but need some ammo. anyone tried to call mistubishi north america directly?

I use the RA mudflaps. I have maybe 1-2 dings. Which I can live with. Hopefully something happens about this issue. Obviously they are aware of it. Because they put a bit of clear shield on the corner of the rear door.
