I would count people as lucky that the issues are relatively minor and that they are happening very quickly. Quickly enough so that hopefully they are addressed by the time next year's model comes out.

And people complaining about build quality of Evo's and what not should take a step back as well. Some people have bad experiences. A LOT of people don't. People that don't have issues don't say

"Hey, my car is doing great. Just wanted to let everybody know."

Only the people complaining about a problem get the car it's noteriety.

I just sold my IX MR which had almost ZERO problems (the clutch was a problem but it was an aftermarket Exedy installed wrong. I also had the water issue under my passenger carpet which was fixed immediately by Mitsubishi and never had a problem again.)

My brother still has his IX MR that he's owned since March 2006. Not one single problem with that car. Just food for thought.
Since I drive a ix, I can say the evo had small issues. But never have so many when it was new. What I am saying is that mitsu needs to do somthing about this. You don't put down 30K or more on a car to settle for anything. if there is a problem you take it to the dealer. Almost everyone is having problems with the seat. Yes its comfortable and firm but If its falling apart fix the damn thing! I am no waiting fot the 09 models to come out and hopefully they will have other seat selections than this china made brand I have a 07 tl-s and any problems I have the dealer fixes it no matter what. Thats why I buy new cars. If this was a used car I would deal with it. Thats food for thought

Agreed. Considering this is one of the larger (if not largest) Evo forums out there, maybe we could get a petition list to have a seat recall considering EVERYONE who own's the X seems to be having this problem & the car JUST came out...

IMO that's poor quality control on their part & they should defintately do something about it.

Hell, that's not even the best part about that ad. The car in the pictures says $34,999. The ad itself says $37654. And the best part of all is the title of the thread: "2008 MITSUBISHI EVOLUTION GSR- GAS SAVER". I love dealers.

My car is showing the staples also, but in both seats.... I took the car to the dealer yesterday for them to take photos to forward to Mitsu and see what needs to be done... I agree that everyone with this problem needs to take your car in and maybe we can get a seat recall happening... Just a thought!

i use to own a 04.5 vw gli and it came with recaro seats from the factory. same issues with the fabric coming loose and the stitching coming apart. i wonder if it justs the issue for recaro mass producing.
