I was just thinking how most of us are just guessing when Mitsu will actually release the Evo X but wouldn't it be likely the domestic Japan release will be before the U.S. market? If so, when would you guess that would be?

I travel to Japan regularly on business and would definitely take a peek at a dealer if the car was out over there. Well, one can only hope right

 

I was reading the new car & driver today and there was an article on the X...They say the car will be released sometime in 2007...

But if it weren't released until Summer 2007 in Japan, that would mean 2008 here in the U.S.

I don't think there's any way they will wait that long to release this car.

 

Spring of 2007 in Japan.

6 months later in the US and Europe.

That is pure speculation on my part.

Thanks Axel, but I what I was realy hoping to find was a video or some audio of the interview. I've only been able to find a Piture of Omer on a Fench speaking site then had it translated.

 

Mitisubisi UK list the X as mid 2007. No idea whattime frame after that for the U.S. Probably October as a 2008 model.

We should be able to tell more when they release the lancer in early 2007. Curious to see how much of the X's styling it will have.

 

I don't know if you or others already saw this so I apologize if it's a repost. It's the only video clip I've seen of the X in my limited research. It's from the Tokyo Auto Show last November.

Yes the IX selling in record numbers. Sarcasm Alert!

It is due to, for whatever reason, not being able to bring it to market faster. Perhaps they want to ensure top quality or they are still deciding on price point and what can be put in the vehicle. What exact demographic will allow them to keep what will be a “halo” car yet still return a reasonable profit. Who knows.

They should probably do away with the numbering on Evos since the VIII to the IX is really no more than you might expect from a manufacturer when they refresh a model for the next model year.
