After speaking with Mitsu a few weeks ago, this is what I got. May not be new info, but may clear some stuff up.
Despite the fact that we all love the current and past Lancers Evolutions, they are not the sales success that Mitsu would like. The car is uncompromising to most people with a econo feel and race car like ride(I know....sound good to me too
). With the X, they are trying to make a car that appeals to a larger audience, has the amenities and feel that its price bracket demands, and compete with a more sophisticated lineup of cars. All this without sacrificing performance. So really you get the best of everything. It will however most likely not feel as much like a race car to those that are very into that.
I was also informed that the car will probably not gain and noticeable performance, just keep the same or close to it while making other areas more "liveable" for the general population. The engine will be a 2.0l turbo as we all know with a block built for forced induction. Weather or not it will be as strong as the 4G63, I have no idea, but I would guess so or close to it. Very little info has been divuldged on the engine. As far as tuneability, it will most likely come accross as far less tuneable at first, but as we all mess around with it, it should be fine for modifing.
I feel the X is a step forward for mistubishi and the evolution, although it is in a different direction. Mitsubishi is apparently revamping much of its lineup with some nice new technology and ideas, so it should be interesting to watch

One thing this will do is bring the base lancer up to par or better than it's competition which it isn't now. That shuld help Mitsu. I'd be surprised if performance on the Evo X isn't a small bit better due to the increase in HP and similar weight. I wouldn't expect a big bump though as you said. Price and reliability are my only concerns at this point.

I am amazed at how much imporoved the X's handling will be. Now I am thinking of waiting and saving money for X instead of getting IX.
Sorry if this has been posted already

then might as well wait for the the X version c later on that year.. but the XI is right around the corner!
Hey guys....
Being only 16, I hope for the X to come out a be a car that I would actually buy in the future....
Made another version of my Evo X concept....made changes from the other one a while back. Suppose to be a little more realistic in design than the current X concept...
....What you guys think?
