I am a salesman at a Mitsu dealer. I asked my manager about it and he said it is "pending" if they will bring the X over here. The Mitsu Outlander has to do good in sales, and if it does then the X will come. I have know Idea how SUV sales have to do with an EVO
, this is just what I heard from the boss.

This is funny... in 2001 and '02 there were so many "the dealer said it will be here in October 02!!!" and stuff like that. The dealers have NO IDEA when it will be there until the decision is even actually made by mitsubishi. Anything they tell you until then is a sales move... If you gotta have one (sight, details and price unseen), just put your name on whatever "list" they might be making and keep bugging them about it for the next year or two, but don't expect it to be in your hands when the dealer tells you it will be.
the evo X is rumored by many to be an overpriced underperformer by power to weight ratio...every car model keeps getting bigger and heavier because everytime the advertise it it needs to be " bigger and better this year"....naw it is going to be a slippery skidpad pig. o yea and whats with the ***** no real clutch auto shifter..

Your hating on the X?
look at your name
weight of the evo x
lighter or heavier??
"What Edmunds.com Says:It is already the best car in its segment, let's hope Mitsubishi leaves it that way.
What We Know: The 2007 Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution X will be an all-new feature vehicle when it appears in early 2007. While the Lancer Evolution IX received a face-lift and some other minor changes when it went on sale this year, the Evo X will more or less be rebuilt from the ground up on a brand-new platform which it will share with the next-generation versions of the Chrysler PT Cruiser, Dodge Caliber, and even the Mitsubishi Outlander SUV. In addition to the new sheet metal on the outside, which is believed to greatly reduce the vehicle's weight, the 2007 Evo will get more power as well. Underneath the hood, the 2007 Lancer Evolution X will feature a slightly more powerful version of its turbocharged MIVEC 2.0-liter four-cylinder, with horsepower boosted past the 300 mark. This engine will be paired with a clutchless six-speed transmission that can be shifted manually via steering-wheel-mounted paddles."

Yes that's been quoted here before, the Evo X is believed to be slightly lighter than the IX thanks to all aluminum panels, bodywork and block. There is a 6 speed manual and a twin clutch DSG-type transmission designed by Mitsu partnered with someone else. The twin clutch sequential will be 20-30 lbs heavier than the 6speed (based on history of DSG design). But the 6speed might not have Nav and a few other gadgets that the twin clutch trim will judging by american auto trends, but that's just my speculation.
I also heard that the X suppose to be a bit lighter. I just want to know if the twindisc DSG system would outperform the 6 speed.
