Lancer Evolution X News, Info, Pics, etc... | [ALL THREADS MERGED]
Thanks for the pointer to the video. Hadn't seen that. The most depressing news in that video is that he said the new Evo will be available "some time next year". It appears this was recorded at the Detroit auto show, meaning it was Jan, 2007, and "next year" would thus refer to 2008. Anyone have a comment on that?
I'm pretty sure the motor will be more than enough for 95% of us. I say this because the majority really doesn't aim for more than 400whp. Even if its not as strong as the 4G63 (BIG IF), meaning maybe it wont handle 500whp in stock form, that shouldn't affect the majority. Most of us aren't aiming that high.
When I first saw pics of the car I thought it looked way better than the concept. But now its been a few weeks and the buzz is wearing off. I agree the 10 makes the 9 looked dated but I still like the look of the 9 more. I may be old fashioned as I prefer the look of the 2G-B eclipse more than most modern cars.
That being said I think once its actually released most people will want the latest and greatest.

I can feel my hands and arms being cut up now working on that tight engine bay.
Every time new pics come out more people down the X. Personally, I like it and I have a feeling all us VIII and IX owners will be jealous the first time you see one driving past you.

Wow i have never heard so many grown people cry!
Get a fuggin lift and drop exhaust out the bottom, at least now u can work on the intake manifold without "cutting your fingers"
Battery in the back is a good thing!!!! Why in the world would you complain about that !!?!!? You can be the first to mod ur car and put the battery up front..

lol, you'd have to search for an empty place to fit a battery, taht would be a first
I use to not like the X atleast teh first concept, it is growwing on me but i think the parts i like the most wont make it to production. Parts like the 20" wheels and and cross drilled brakes. Regardless of what it does have when i first see one one hte road it will probably turn my head, but all new cars do that. I remember when the first c6 corvettes came out it made my day to see one, now I am kinda unalarmed by them.

Well I don't think there will be a shift knob if that's what you're asking... It'll be 6 speed auto with the option of the paddle shifters.... Regardless I can't think this would HURT our 0-60 times.
Thoughts?
Thoughts?
Well i've tried to search all 421 pages of this Thread but my search skills appear to be inadequate. Does anyone know what the dimensions of the X will be ie: overall lenght, width, interior dimensions etc...? Have the 07 Lancers dimension been posted some where?
TIA
