Lancer Evolution X News, Info, Pics, etc... | [ALL THREADS MERGED]
I also love the hotted up econobox but i think if we all still care about mitsu making the evo for the furture we'll have to except the normal folks as they will bring in the MULAh. there's just not enough of us ECONObox lovers to support mitsu
ofcourse imo
it's not just about the econobox buyers not having the money to help mitsu stay afloat. the new model IS better, it handles better and looks significantly better. no offense guys, but the current model is f***ing ugly, and looks like a cheap econo car. the sti is at least a slightly better looking car, but still sore on the eyes. i'm 27 and although i liked the sti and evo when they came out in terms of performance, but the performance is not enough to offset looking like a 16 year old spic driving around in a hopped up rice car. now i have loved my sti, but i want something more mature that still has the handling and power of these cars...and the new evo is it. the new model may be 300 lbs more (not 350, wrc-go, put some glasses on when your reading) but it has substantially better awd upgrades that aren't "nannies" that ruin the purist's enjoyment, but technology giving the driver an edge. and wrc-go, please don't make yourself look stupid by making comment that the driver just doesn't know to drive the 9, because it's mitsu's test driver, the same who's been there with the company for years. and, last time I checked, a professional driver knows how to drive probably a little better than you. it's like saying that the "stig" from top gear doesn't know how to drive. don't make an *** out of yourself. stop being a f***ing fanboy for your evo 9. grow up kid.

youd better hurry up and start giving mad head to the new evo's tailpipe dude! i realy dont care, i hope the new engine is better than the old one, i didnt know the old one polluted so much, that sucks, as for being faster, dont be too sure, the old one has a HUGE following, i think theyll both be neck and neck
The term "Evo" is a term reserved for production cars turned into race cars at the factory for some kind of compettitve purpose. This term was a bit of a stretch for the USDM CT9A but is completely meaningles now with the X.
The X is a different sort of car altogether, the kind that apeals to more normal folks, but not wierdos like myself who actually like hotted up econo-boxes.

you're an idiot. read about the new car in Road and Track, or online in any of the road tests, there's a good one on top gears website, and you'll see that the new car, heavier and all, is faster around a track than it's predecessor. get over it, fanboy. perhaps you should give my new evo x the bj instead.
I stand corrected. The pig isn't 350 lbs overweight, it's only 300. Read both R/T and C/D reviews this am. Both articles said "faster around a road course" (one second, on a two-minute lap, lol), but also said "noticeably bulkier," "feels like a n/a 6 cylinder," and said the IX was "edgier and quicker." Basically the X has "lost that loving feeling."
Spin it any way you want. Like I said, I'm sure it will be a good car, and I would consider one if I was in the market. Fortunately, I am not, since I purchased a IX MR for probably 8K less than the X will go for. If/when I decide to sell that one, I'll look at a X. But I'll probably pass, because if wanted an M3, I'd just spend the extra 10K and get one. I like my edgy IX.

This guys is retarded! I bet he uses chickedhead more than any other word in his vocabulary. What an idiot.

man i feel you just bought IX and you are worried about it just enjoy!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
And the pig is 300 lbs heavier - R/T said so. The fundamental character of the car has changed, and is more like a bimmer or audi, now. If you want one, buy it, dood.
Or keep your old STi. They're pretty good cars.

"Despite all the added size, structure and systems, the new Evo MR with the six-speed TC-SST is just 100 pounds heavier (including 11 pounds of sound deadener) than the 2006 Evolution IX MR. The infinitely more tunable GSR with the five-speed manual is just 59 pounds heavier."

The GSR is even lighter.
