1. I get asked that question all the time, and it's always the same answer.

2. Your friends need to learn how to drive.

3. That hood scoop rules! If you hate that one, you must hate the one on all of the classic Hemi cars. They look almost the same.

4. Some of them do sound like ***. In fact, some of them sound like lawnmowers under water. Depends on what type of exhaust you get. The S203 and S204 models that Japan has sound absolutely wonderful. Choose an exhaust wisely.

I guess it's the opposite for me. I've only heard ONE Evo that was to die for, and that was Kevin's (KmcConn9's) car. OMG, that thing sounded soooooo badass.

How in the hell does one destroy a sti tranny? I mean even if you really tried hard I don't see it happening. I drove my 04 sti like I stole it and never had one problem wit the tranny, same clutch and tranny after 38,000 miles. I can see a wrx tranny going out fast but not an sti tranny.

It's like flipping a Lamborghini. It's possible, but you really have to be a jackass to do it.

Maybe he hangs out with a lot of jackasses?

I had my entire differential assembly replaced, but that was because of a poorly shimmed pinion bearing. That wasn't something I did. I've heard of some people grenading their STi/STI trannies, but I don't personally know any of them. I've seen some people just beat the living **** out of their STis/STIs, and they just keep coming back for more.....

Test drove the EVO an had to have it. For the record though I wanted an STi in the worst way prior to the EVO test drive.

Nice of them to sell it from under you. Great business practice!

One of the main reasons I bought my STi over the Evo was because if I had bought the Evo, I would probably resent it and wish I had bought the STi. I guess when you want something bad enough, there just isn't a substitute. If I came to the table with a neutral opinion on both of them, maybe my choice would've been different. As it stands, it's like if GM was making the Camaro and I bought a Mustang instead. While I would dig the Mustang, it still wouldn't stop me from wanting a Camaro.

I drove them back to back on the same day

the things i dont like about the STi

awful exhaust note
the seats
i think the wing is a bit out there
it felt weird to me
and i cant explain it
the fun factor wasnt there
it didnt seem like an angry car to me(most of my cars are angry)
and that same day my dad happened to tell me his good friend
owns a mitsubishi dealership
so the decision was a no brainer at that point

why i like the evo9mr

makes great power easily
its angry
seats are great
very fun
the price was right
plus i got to drive it for free for a month before i decidied what color i wanted
could the decision be any tougher

Eh, there's always a next time! What can I say, it happens.

I've had a vehicle sold right out from under me before. It really sucks. I made it my business to drive back to the dealership with my new vehicle and show the general manager of the dealership, and explain to him why he lost a $22,000 sale.

Or you could end up getting that 21k sale on what you think is a great deal and then finding out you bought a POS and got the shaft in the same week

Ironic!

I had a chance to buy a 2003 red Evolution 8 from a wholeseller who rents a bay at work. The car had aftermarket exhaust with a cat-delete, aftermarket brakes, an ecu flash, aftermarket bov (lol), drop, and rediculous subwoofer. It made pretty good power... 30k Miles. 21,500

Problems.. CEL on, drivetrain whine, some of the mods were done a little carelessly/half-assed.

It was very tempting, but the trans noise and butchered mods killed my future with it. A couple weeks later, he had another 03 but it had clutch issues. Passed on that one too.

I didnt buy one because after 100mph they felt tired. They are not as good of drag cars as well. The interior of the STI is way better than the evo, but thats it.

FTW!
