true...but u'll still out run him in turns and at the track because evo is a complete package from suspension to drivetrain.

I like how the Evo is unlike anything else. The 4B11 will be used in some Chrysler and Hyundai products. How would it be having a Tiburon driver come up to you in your Evo X and say "Hey, I just bought a turbo and now I'm just like an Evo!!"

well that is rally car 2.0L but here in the street they could have 2.5L
just look at the STI here in the us 2.5L
my guess is they will surpise us all
just like the STI came out after the evo 8 in the us
and i think there will be a 400 hp evo x also
or the MR just came out after the STI which after the evo x

, That's so funny, the only person i know who has a 3rd gen Eclipse is a cheerleader lol. (chick) lolOn a serious note, i feel the exact same way. I just have a horrible feeling about all this; i get all the positive things some of you guys are saying; but my gut just won't stop aching. It's going to be bad.
BUT, i don't think the change will be any different from the Eclipse. Everyone will keep buying the nice 4g63 models for years to come, and there were plenty of 8's and 9's sold to fuel the fire; the X's and on will just sit in
lots. Oh and school/stadium parking lots for all the cheer leaders.
I don't know what to say over the EVOX. Personally I felt Mitsubishi should have kept the 4G63 even to make a better announcement over the 4B11T. Why? When the 2003 EVO VIII came to the states, they made a big push over the facts that the original team that built / refined the EVO was largely entact and had done the work to improve on the EVO design.
Believe me, the EVO is wrought full of design "tradeoffs" besides more than just looks. Most of the time, the EVOs designers would err on the side of performance.
Questions I would be asking is has the EVO team been reassembled in order to build the new EVOX? Or is the new EVOX a bean-counter's project, more chuck full of marketteering BS than performance?
I look at the Skyline and the new Supra. Both companies have done their homework and have had the frontline R&D necessary to put forth both a great car, and a great powerplant. Mitsubishi has been fraught with financial difficulties. They've now how to scale back into a "Global Engine Manufacturing Alliance" in order to even produce a competitive four-cylinder motor? This does not bode well for the EVO platform in general.
For the future I'm saying, that
--1-- I'm glad I bought an EVO when I could
--2-- I'm glad a MIVEC head is out on the IXes, on the 4G63 block that can actually hold it.
--3-- We're going to see the demise of a true "driver's car."

One could speculate that Skyline devlopment (and motorsports) is what put Nissan in financial trouble in the first place. Now a lot of their cars are on the bottom of the list for relibility and fit and finish. I do not wish Mitsubishi to be in their place, nor do I think tha Nissan will automatically be able to deliver a better car either.

So like most others you are willing to dismiss the car before it even reaches the market, even though the designers promised to build a car better then the Evo IX, as it is the only benchmark, and would also assume that the Supra and Skyline will be better. I can guarantee they latter two will be more expensive, or at least the Skyline will so it should be better, but if the Supra does exist, and if its to be a 350Z fighter, it may not be any better. I'll go out on a limb and say that since it is a Tyota, it will be heavy, have bland styling and cost more then every other car in is segment.

i personally like the fact that there the 4g63 evo is no more
mitsu made its come back it took them a while to come back with a great all wheels car with the loved 4g63
im glad i got the last year
its like having a 98 supra give it some time it will only go up in value

One of the things I'd read in a lot of Evo reviews was how the engine would be referred to as archaic or prehistoric and it would get panned for that.
Rival tuners would scoff at high powered versions by saying "oh its been around forver" as if that were "cheating" and that any old engine could produce 1000hp and that it has nothing to do with how well the engine is designed.
It seems to me since its a Mitsubishi, people are going to go out of their way to find flaws.

forgive if its all ready been posted.
When they tested the new AWD system (yellow evo 8 in the snow) That was with a 4g63... if thats the case, and it is the case with many many other of the mistus it should line up with the bell housing... how great would it be if we just do a 4g63 swap? those who want it can have it. Just a thought.
