Wheres the displacment?

Well, sad to see her go but I'm looking forward to seeing what’s around the corner.

I'm a little disappointed to see that they aren't going to pursue the 2.4l version for the Evo. Would be great if they stepped up the displacement like Subaru did for the States. The new SRT4 Caliber is supposedly using this "World Engine" as well. It is reported that they'll have a 2.4l turbo 4B. Which is what? a 4B12t?

And I know the Evos have probably remained 2.0 because of Rally and other racing classifications (also Japanese regulations?) but we're gonna be surrounded by increased displacement, turbo charged, one of which is right in our own family! heh. I guess that'll fuel the swapping community.

"Whoa, you've got an SRT4 motor in your Evo!? Sweet dude!"

i think it was in the last issue of Automobile. i gave the issue to my friend or i would scan it. they also had spy photos of the the evo x and the lancer ralliart but were all covered up. both looked the same except the evo had larger wheels.

Since you like displacement you can always get a V-8.

A 2.3L is welcome. V8 is too heavy.

yea i agree, anything with a "v" should never be placed in a tuner car...however another way to up the displacement would be to drop an inline six motor...that would be sick in an evo, it would remind me a a short skyline.

i just hope that the evo X will come with an optional manual transmission,,because the new paddle shifter technology IMO is obiously a hinder on the track if you autoX

Once again, read before you just shoot stuff out of your a$$.

Next WRX, (note i said WRX not STI), is rumored to have 320 hp, and come in a hatchback.

I think that kind of puts it out of lancer Rallyart league, don't you think?

Here's the article:

it must be a miss print. MotorTrend said that the new WRX (not STi) will get a 2.5L turbo making 230 hp and will come with subaru 4 piston front and 2 piston rear brake. if the new wrx comes with 320 hp like you said, then why would anyone buy the STi? it doesn't make sence.

... just as I told you in the other thread

First off, your mistaking. That article states test mules of the WRX, but it does not state the WRX as 320hp or 330hp. There is no chance in hell that the WRX will have 320hp. If anything, the new STi will have 330hp. Think about it, it's not rocket science, Subaru is not dumb enough to give the lower model WRX more power than it's bread and butter, icon car... the STi.

Oh yeah, for the record, it's ralliart, not rallyart.

The 06' WRX (the one out now) has a 2.5l engine and 4/2 pots. It's not 320 hp, its 230 hp & 235 lb/ft.

oh, ok. i didn't know it was out already. is it being sold as an 07 model? MotorTrend said 07 model, so i thought it wasn't out yet.
