Evolution MR - Mitsubishi Racing [MERGED]
250 hp from 1.5L is a wicked high specific power output for a factory car (166 hp/L)!
The Colt Evo sounds nice, but I'll take the Evo VIII instead. I prefer it's edgy style and 4-door, 5-passenger practicality over the Colt.

Well actually, I wouldn't be surprised if the Colt was 300lbs lighter. Given the size and shape of the Colt, it would only make sense that the car would lose a lot of weight.

The Colt is another econobox type hatchback that has been in Japan for a year or two now, I think. Maybe more? The Colt is a Mitsu only platform - I find it unlikely that they would use a co-developed platform for the Evo anyway. (even though they did that with the 3000GT)
I had an '87 Dodge Colt Premier (the premier means sucks!) for a couple of months. Between car, just to get to work and back. ****tiest car ever...it was a Mitsubishi BTW. It had a set of Pirellis on it when I bought it that were worth more than the entire vehicle! But, I got no speeding tickets, I don't even think it was capable of speeding actually, and never got looked at by police or revved at by any ricers. Whoops, shouldn't have sold it, anyone know where I can find one? I'll do an even trade for my EVO hhahaha.
I hope this is the begining of some serious performance wars between manufacturers. Hot mid-sized 4 door rides like the Evo, STi, SRT4, S4, etc. and Also some smaller lighter 2/3 doors like the Evo 3 GSR. It would also be nice to see the new Mazda 3 offered with a turbo, that 2.3L mill would be nice at 250hp and maybe AWD. but I'm just hoping to see better stuff for all of us.
I'm still set on the MR. Hopefully it will be available so I can put it under the Christmas tree in 8 months.

BTW, that license plate doesn't mean anything...
Okay, I looked around it isn't *exactly* like the one shown at the shows as of late. Looks like the Colt (or the concept as they called it - the Tarmac Spyder) with a hood vent and a spoiler.

It uses ACD/AYC and the 4G63 as well. I wouldn't be surprised to see this as the new base for the Evo sometime into the future (couple of years at least), seeing as how all the big contenders in WRC (minus Subaru) are using hatchbacks as their base car. Smaller, lighter, shorter wheelbase, which all make for excellent maneuverability.

Why would I buy a Lotus and have to pay out my a$$ with insurance and the car note for performance that the Evo could surpass with slight mods. C'mon you should know better than that. The Evo is all about the bang for the buck.
If "bang for buck" was the case, then people would be buying the Cobra over the Evo...Buuuut lets not start one of those convo's up again.
When does the Evo stop production? I've been trying to search for it but haven't gotten a solid answer. After the MR?

Depends on your bang. I like 30 minute banging sessions, not 15 seconds where you can do it without twisting the steering wheel.. What's the point if your not driving? just shifty shifty.. The Evo is the best bang for me for my buck.
