Don't know if this is a repost - you guys lost me with the thread - so sorry if it is.
Is destination part of MSRP? or is it MSRP plus Destination? Bottom line, when a dealer says MSRP - is that plus destination?

Yea, maybe Mitsu is keeping the price a secret until it's actually available for sale, hopefully because the price is so low that they don't want Subaru to have any time to counter with some instant re-bate or something for the Sti, before the MR even gets a chance to come out. Then they keep people waiting for the MR, and Subaru can't try to steal any potential MR buyers.

wow... i think you're RIGHT on the BUTTON. holy ****. so here's some more of what's going on.
Like WESTCOAST stated above and the fact that the shipments were pushed back almost month.... why do you think? i thought they were lagging on production and moving??? NOT. they don't want the MR to fall into the Free Maintenance Schedule.
****in' ******, BUT smart ****in' businessmen.
Hey Robert, this is Frank, remember me from a few months back? Anyways, trust me when I say this, Robert WILL hook it up, even after all the bad news i've heard from SM Mitsu from fellow SoCalEvo people, Robert made all those rumors false. He is one cool dude, I woulda bought my evo from him but SM mitsu had no black evos the day I bought mine. Anyways, dino, this is Knarf, I know you hate SM mitsu with a passion and we've heard all those horror stories, if there is ONE person at SM mitsu thats a stand up guy, it's Robert! Haha, i'm gonna go check out those MRs once you get em Robert ;p...
Why does everyone think the MR is going to be some sort of ultra exclusive collector car with a limited production run? All the magazine reviews I've read thus far have said nothing about hard numbers of MR's destined for our shores and neither has mitsubishi. Does anyone honestly believe that a car company in as dire a financial situation as mitsubishi is going to limit the numbers on any of their cars that sell well?
I think it will be like the release of the 03 Evo all over again. Initial hype and marketing pushing the first deliveries out the door at MSRP + Crayola $5000 "Fair Market Adjustment" BS. Then sales will drop steeply as the initial demand wanes and people realize the car is not worth 40 grand. Dealer inventory will surge and eventually you'll start seeing MR's go for LESS THAN MSRP, if not close to INVOICE after about 6 months from the time MR's hit dealers lots. Mitsu needs all the help it can get sales wise. The last thing they want to do is ostracize potential customers with insults like DMU. The EVO is the flagship right now carrying the marque. They should look what nissan did with the Z; get as many out there as possible so people will start noticing the brand, then concentrate on improving the rest of the lineup to attract potential buyers.
The other thing they should do is develop or foster a relationship with Ralliart or a US based tuner to support factory backed performance parts. Thus giving potential owners more options and providing an albeit more expensive modification route, but one that preserves the warranty while at the same time generating more revenue for the parent company. Win-Win. I'd think that with all the bad decisions made in the past that the new investors from Mitsu's Parent companies would have insisted on a leadership shakedown. The new CEO worked wonders for Hyundai, but I doubt he'll be able to affect much change given the same operations staff. But then again, what would I know about leadership...I'm just a bone in a dog-eat-dog world

I agree with dude. Mitsubishi should have a company in the US like Ralliart that has upgrades for Evolution and Evo MR. They need to do what Toyota did with the SCION and have performance parts that are covered under warranty. That would help Mitsubishis future. I also don't believe that the MR will be limited to just a 1,000 units just my 2 cents..
ANYWAY HOW ABOUT AN MSRP FOR THE MITSUBISHI EVOLUTION MR
LIKE MITSUBISHI SAYS WAKE UP AND DRIVE...
WELL WAKE UP MITSUBISHI WE NEED AN MSRP......

I don't get Scion at all, but as a consumer I love what they're doing. They pretty much load their cars with the standard equipment i'd want. The TC comes with just about everything for under 15k.. It's obvious they're expecting to make money with rediculous options but scion and TRD parts are overpriced and not nearly as good as what the aftermarket has to offer. Also I don't think Toyota would be so quick to void a warranty because of an exhaust system so I don't think it is good to compare it to a possible mitsu strategy. Although it would be cool if mitsu could pull something like that off and do it right. I still don't see Evo guys passing up better performance parts for less just to hold on to our warranties though.
Dude, I have heard a hard production number of 1000 MRs, I think it was Motor Trend. Not long after the first Evos got here I was hearing 5000. Someone did say they spoke to an Mitsu guy at the SoCal meet who said they would make more if demand was high enough. The VIII doesn't sound like it's going to be in production much longer though, maybe another 2 years so I don't see this ever becoming a high volume car. This doesn't matter though, either it is worth it to you or not. Some people worry about exclusivity or what not but those people typically are ignorant, weak minded and **** me off. Don't worry too much about what us MR guys are thinking, enjoy your Z and your Evo. You've already got quite an awesome combination there.

even if 34,900 turns out to be the MR edition MSRP, that isnt that great, considering the real MR sells in japan for about 32,000, they take a way a few cosmetical goodies and give it the degraded name like MR "edition" and charge more, still crossing my fingers for 33,000 msrp
