$35k too high. I hope that isn't the price because I will have to pull my refundable $500 deposit and get an STi. I just can't pay that kind of money. Hey Mitsubishi! You hear me!! I can't go higher than $32.9! or its an STi. Sure the STi doesn't respond to mods as well as the Evo, but I'm keeping whichever car I buy stock anyway to preserve the resale and warranty. The performance numbers are pretty much equal, so I'll be damned if I will pay over $3000 more for an Evo...

Right on Captain! We all have our limit, and if the MR is gonna hit $35k then Mitsubishi is better off not make more then a 1000 cause they ain't gonna sell them all.

As soon as you hit that $35k mark it opens you up to a wide range of other cars....

I have the official MSRP. I talked to a guy today who has his MR already in Houston TX. He said he paid about 34,500. He said most dealers though will bark it up to mid 35,000. So from this point on its all about whether your dealer is gonna mark it up a **** load or not.

Damn thats 7k over what I paid for my new Evo a year ago. The only thing I would care for is the ACD. Even the 6 speed doesnt do me much good since Im considering a dogbox for the car. As far as the rims, suspension and turbo, Ive changed all of it anyways. The lighter aluminum roof that lowers the center of gravity of the car equal to 50mm has been acquired in other ways on my car. For myself, the car wouldnt be worth it. If you are someone that is going to leave the car stock it might be the way to go.

Have VIN # for MR

I just got the Vin # for my MR. The GM called me at 7:45 this morning. He said he got it from the dealer link but that he still had no MSRP. WEIRD The arrival date should be the end of this month or beg. of next month. He said that thats what the link told him . I just don't understand.. He said that he is not gonna give me an MSRP until its in his hands on the Dealer invoice sheet in black and white. Well at least i can say one thing that the GM and salesman are cool with me and have not kept me in the dark on anything. I'll let you guys know more as soon as i find out.

Derek

Man, this "I know what MSRP" stuff has gotten out of hand. This is worse than the 350Z talks way back when.

As for the bang for the buck and the "Truth of the MR" all that has to be said is 2 seconds a lap faster. LOL, truth about a performance car from Edmunds, oh, it hurts, the laughter, make it stop.

I went to my dealer today and the manager didn't seem like he was too interested in selling anything. Another guy kept trying to get me to buy a 2004 model. He told me the MSRP for the MR will be $36,000. I hope it's not that high. I told him that if it's really that much, I'll probably just get a 2005 Sti for cheaper.

He kind of pissed me off, cause I asked for a trade-in value on my 2000 Civic Si with 47,000 miles, and he barely glanced at my car and said $5000 cause it's lowered! I told him forget it, I can easily get $12,000 - $15,000 selling it myself.

He also told me that they don't sell that many EVO's and they're overstocked so they probably won't get that many EVO's at all. I was thinking that's probably cause their customer service sucks, and they act like they don't want to sell any cars, and drive people away from the dealership.

I think I'm gonna talk to the Mitsubishi dealer in Sacramento, and see what they can do.

Avoid these price gougers at all costs... they are the epitome of a shady dealership.

how so? maybe you've heard stories of dealing with other salespeople. 27,9 for an EVO is no good? how bout MSRP for an MR? in my opinion those are pretty damn good prices considering i paid $200 over invoice for an '03 ($28,500) and i work there!

What does it take to reserve an MR? I've never reserved a car before. How much of a deposit do you have to put down to ensure that you get one? Is there a lot of negotiating involved?
