MAP sensor ?.

I bought it off a member here like 2 months ago, finally installed it, it has readings, it reads, etc. I have the calibrated slip, but not sure where to put/use those numbers. I see one spot in the utec to add them in, but it's not what i think it is.

i'm confused, and hopefully someone can direct me right

besides, it's time we had a newer thread in this forum

I didn't see your post until now...
Just follow the directions in your UTEC user's manual. You will have to log the raw numbers the MAP sensor is reading, then use those numbers in a formular stated in teh manual.

i did that with the numbers given to me ( the calibration sheet for the map sensor itself, but it's still nowhere near right.

I don't know about those numbers, but they seems to be useless with my UTEC. May be that's for DTEC? Who knows.
Just do it as the manual say, datalog it with number "4" to read the signal, then calculate the two magical numbers needed and plug them into your UTEC.

Good luck!

i tried that too, but after i tried the other numbers, and they didn't work, then the number when logging changes.

so now i'm in a loop where i can't get it right.

edit: also, my boost gauge doesn't read negative pressure, it's in a different scale, so any ideas for the conversions? (defi D)

Make sure you use log "4" in UTEC, using other programs like UCC won't work when calibrating your MAP sensor. Log 4 show you the raw signal of the MAP sensor and it won't be affected by whatever you changed in the calibration.

If your gauge doesn't read negative signal, just pick the lowest reading of it, such as 0 psi or 1 psi, then pick another high reading of it, such as 20psi. It will be good enough to calibrate the MAP sensor.

ok, for anyone that didn't know, everyime someone said LOG 4, i went in and 4 was always zero, so i used the psi next to it.

totally not knowing there is a 4 from the menu screen.

that helped. it's calibrated now, although, i got the gradient from a wot run (22psi) and a non-running car then had to use a 5 psi figure to do the intercept as 0 doesn't work in the math.

So what did you end up using for the gradient and intercept. I tried to calibrate mine with little success. The typical GM sensor calibration numbers are 168 for gradient and 134 for intercept (from TXS UTEC man). I tried those numbers and they did not help anything.

This image is from logger #4 (pressing 4 in the main UTEC menu):

What numbers should I be looking at?

"37" on the 'EXT MAP dig' column.

Ok that's what I started to suspect. However, when I plug those number in to the equation I get some pretty crazy numbers. Can you post up what you used for your gradient and intercept. Maybe they'll work for me too. Thanks.
