this is what happens when i get bored!
wow almost a month since ive posted here in my own thread.
the lancer is fixed. i figured out what it wasnt shifting and didnt need to get a new trans, although it still ended up being a $4k fix since i bought the wrx.
what had happened was that the shift selector was bent down a bit so that it wouldnt always engage the gear select. i must have bent/bumped it down when we were putting my trans back into the car. but oh well its fixed and driveable to a point. till today when the alternator took a crap and now have to get a new one to make it driveable again.
soit looks to be at least one more week before i get to pull the engine and do the clutch on the wrx. need to get it back up to my apartment so that i still have a car because i figure at least a week-2 weeks down time on the wrx since i have no service records on it im doing everything basic maintence wise to it sothe car will last!

oh man this makes me so excited I love reading these threads. I will be down in wisconsin by july 2nd, do you want me to bring my ecu at all or what? I dont think the car will be fully drivable yet until my tune is done and especially when I upgrade the clutch which will be like 6 months from now

ok so heres an update....
the lancer runs great now. the issue i had was when we were putting the trans back into the car we bent down the shift select fork then in turn caused it not to mate up with the gear select. got that back in place and the car shifts awesome! next then i had a ded battery and then an alternator. well all that is fixed now and the car is back up where i live and not collecting pine tree sap anymore.
now since the lancer is done and running i can do the clutch in the rex. this will be a couple week project since i have no records and the car has got 165k on it now as well. since im in the engine as well im going to do some upgrades as well. i will start a new thread in the "other cars" thread when i start.

as for updates....
the lancer is still running tho im having a few slight problems with idle again when the car is cold so im still working on that.
as for the wrx i was gonna pull the engine this weekend but it looked like it was gonna rain all weekend and i decided not to do it. so next id be able to pull it would be tomorrw but then i realized that the big subaru meet here in madison is next weekend and i def wanna goto that so ill prolly pull it out on the 27th after the meet since then in a week later i have my vacation and can work on it whenever.

Wow...thats not bad at all. I get 36.2 mpg highway. I dont know city. I dont really travel city. But I also haven't turbo'd just yet. Im trying to find a evo in a junk yard to source the piping and I will almost be there. I'd have to thank ThunderOZ for convincing me to go custom.
