Just thought of this and maybe its a dumb idea and maybe its not.
Head--gasket--4G94 flange--gasket--Evo 8 turbo manny, no welding required. I dont really see why this wouldnt not work other than maybe a little more play than normal. Maybe this would be too big of a weakpoint? Seems like there are quite a few ppl out there who just welded a 4G94 flange straight on the 4G63 Flange. Maybe the added space of the second gasket might be enough for the turbo to clear the coolant pipe? Or at least mean less grinding of the turbo? I havent come across this question in my long searches on here and elsewhere regarding how I am going to do the manny.

Ok so I did a couple more 3rd gear pulls and here are my dyno results. Wierd thing this is pull 2 and 3 side by side and one gives me 112hp and the other 143hp and i dont know why. This is v5.2, gotta wait for 5.4 later today as 5.3 isnt working with openoffice.3rd> 1.38, Final>3.77 this is right isnt it? Weight 2640

You have to do the pulls from the same road, same starting point, same direction.

They were exact same point, same direction, same time (back to back after turning around and going back to start) its wierd. There is a road about a 1/2 mile from my home that is little traveled and plenty of straight road with trees on both sides so wind shouldnt be a big factor either??

The Virtual Dyno Simulator still has bugs being worked out. If you switch the log entry values for the comparison and base do the graphs stay the same? I've had issues with it to where only the comparison side provided a proper graph. Try using the log entry values on the same side, one run at a time and see if they are similar.

+1

The graph for the base looks about right for N/A with mods.

Ok so seen 5.4 was available YAY lol so here is what I got with it using the exact same logs and sections of the logs. ( I left the logs open all day while at work so the collums were even still highlighted so I just copied and pasted) The only thing different maybe I switched sides on the pulls. The comparison pull doesnt have a drop down dyno correction yet thus one is Evom and the other is dynojet

Looks alot closer and you can see the tq number now!!

Ok so I never did get a straight answer... wait I never got ANY answers on this lol anyone out there know if this would work or if it would even be a good idea at all?? In case this seems a little confusing I am not talking about a head gasket lol but rather the exhaust ports on the head then the 94 gasket then 94 flange the another gasket, I guess evo or 94 would work here?? then manifold.

Wow this is pretty lame no one has posted but me like the last 5 times lol, Ok so I am going to assume nobody has an answer or might have an opinion but dont want to share,, no problem I am going to assume this is not a good idea, however I did have another idea that sounds pretty good to me too. What about doing a port match of my head to match the runners on a evo mani? Basically just taking a dremel and widening out the ports on my head for a little better flow?? I wouldnt even have to get a 4G94 flange then right? This really sounds like good Idea to me, I will be pulling my head off when I do my install for the gasket and head studs. Oooo... I think I might just do this so if anyone out there can give me a reason why this would be a really bad idea please let me know otherwise...

Since clearance issues with the radiator are tight already, adding another inch by piggybacking flanges would make fitment more complicated. You might also run into issues with the stock exhaust manifold studs being long enough to accommodate 2 flanges and 2 gaskets.

Ok ya that makes sense I didnt even think about the radiator clearance I was focusing on thinking that the turbo might clear the water pipe with that extra clearance. Ok so what about my idea of just opening the ports a little on my head to better match the evo so all I have to do is drill the holes for the studs?

If you think it can work, go for it. But then you need to worry about what gasket to use and if it will leak. Just remember that going cheap now may mean spending more money later to correct mistakes.
