Welding the 4G94 flange right onto the 4G63 flange does create issues as well (added welds, added strain to exhaust studs, turbo located even closer to radiator), but as I said it's technically the lesser of two evils. People don't want to pay up for a quality manifold so this is the result.
I noticed the issue with the outer runners. I just didnt think they would create a further issue if you were to bend them in. I understand what your saying though. Thanks.

It creates a bad situation. My 16G6 manifold broke open like a fortune cookie right on the top of the collector due to the stress the re-welded flange puts on the original manifold welds.

The other (wrong way), alot of people do this way actually, doesn't mean its right, but they take out the stock studs and replace them, tighten them down one by one. the head is never removed. but its really easy to drip oil into the holes this way, and its a B to try to get it out.

So now that i got my manifold welded, i need oil lines, a new UEGO sensor, a new HG.... and a tactrix cable. I have a new job i am starting next monday, so ill have enough money to get it up and going again real quick!
Kind of a late reply to this I know but is oil in the stud holes really the only reason to pull the head? If so I wont need to wory about that then I have plenty of things I can use to suck out the oil before pulling the old studs. I might just stick with my stocker for now if this is the only reason

And i guess when you are taking 1 stud out at a time to replace it, there is a chance that oil can get in between where the hg is, and mess it all up. Like i said b4, there are alot of ppl that do it that way, some shops even. idk if i would even risk it tho.

Any other thoughts?

Well basically I mean I have plenty of tools and I can suck every drop of oil out of the head before pulling the old bolts. I have done lots of head gaskets and head rebuild jobs but I just hate spending all that time cleaning all the old gasket material off the surface of the block and head and would rather not if the oil is the only issue with this but if there are other issues to worry about someone please dont hesitate to tell me. I have never pulled head bolts out without pulling the head just because its always due to needing to change the head gasket So never looked into any issues that could arise from just pulling bolt to install the studs. I am also have trouble finding a metal head gasket, would a stock felpro be fine with the arp head studs? Also I wouldnt pull one out at a time I would pull all at once then put the studs all in at once torquing them to spec in the pattern from the fsm

There's very little good that comes from swapping in ARP head studs this way. You can search through the Evo threads. The head gaskets were more prone to premature failure. The owners were even quick to note that their head gasket failed likely because of the quick swap. Not to mention you should be replacing the head gasket anyway. Since it's a MLS head gasket, once their crushed and then released they don't seal the same second time around. The 4G94 needs all the help it can get to stand up to boost. Any head gasket you get for the Lancer is going to be a MLS head gasket, whether it's Fel-Pro, OEM or otherwise.

True with the MLS just wasnt wure if there was a special metal one you can use. So I might as well bite the bullet and pull it off, crap I hate doing it but would hate more ***ing up my engine cause I took the short route. should be getting my Timing belt water pump head gasket and stud here pretty soon and I will put those all in before the build, I am also going to port the intake manifold while I am in there since I have to pull that off any way

Well put, Any issues you have (although you probably have a good grasp on the install since this isnt the first engine youve had to install) just ask bro!!
