do like what i did. buy all the parts myself and still take the ins. check...... i had the entire car fixed and painted for about 1500, and they cut me a check for 4k minus my 1k deductible so technically 3k i got to fix the car. 1.5k for new goodies!!!!!!

Did you hit a truck? They will only total it if the actual frame is destroyed. From the looks of it, it might be no the passenger side. Other than that it looks to be in good condition. hood, fender, radiator of course will need to be replaced. Other than that I dont see why it would be totaled. Other than the frame damage.

I hit an suv, I don't know yet but, there is a little frame damage, can they bend that back in shape or can a frame be fixed? just need to know. its just small part near the head light and the front bolt that holds the fender

hmmm aren't you just talking about the radiator support? If so shouldn't be to big of a hassle I did one in about 6 hours one day just grinded the old welds off and spot welded the new ones on

eh, I don't know. I've never had a car that had too little frame damage. They may not total it if you can bolt the fender on. You can do what burner said and grind and weld. But if they total it im sure you can find a lancer shell cheap. maybe $1k-$2K considering you can find an evo shell for $6k. From the pictures I cant really tell unless the hood is popped open all the way and you get inside pics. But from looking at the outside it looks like minor damage that can be fixed.

My guess is that your insurance company will deem it a total loss. 2002 Lancer ES doesn't have enough value to it for them to opt for repair. Depending on the insurance company, if the value of repairs exceeds 70-85% of the value of the car, it is deemed a total loss.

On the flip side, you can buy the car back from them and continue on modding.

+1 and my guess is the ins co wont get offered much for your car which is good for you that means you can buy it back for cheap

so how exactly do I buy the car for cheap? thats what Im confused on, because I still owe 1k on the car. What I want to do is see if they can cut me a check for getting the frame fixed and I would just weld on the evo support bar and put on the evo 8 bumper lights fenders and the control arms. Or should I just buy another lancer for cheap? I really wanted a white one from the start but couldnt find a manual one.

I got a dealer who can give me a good deals on an evos

If you can afford the evo go for it. I would. But the $1k you still owe on the car would stop me until I pay that off first. Im pretty sure there are ppl that would buy your turbo kit as a whole. As for the car, not so. You might be better off with a part out on the car.

dude I love my lancer its my first car and has taught me alot!!! I'm really thining about ugrading to the evo and just a calling it done, the only mods i'm going to is a bigger turbo, full 3"greddy exhaust, headers, and bigger injectors. And boost it to 500hp. But if the lancer isnt totaled then im doing the front evo conversion and making it my drag car once I get my new car for DD.

so tomorrow will tell what goes on.
