dynojet dyno's do tend to read a bit higher than mustangs, thats why i asked. now you know your shifting point to stay in your torque band....

Honestly, if I was in your shoes, I would want to get that motor in straight away. When I was on a stock block with my 16G6 kit I was counting the days until the motor went. Every time I gunned it on the highway at 15psi I kept anticipating a BANG and sending a rod through the block. Thankfully, the engine lasted until it was swapped out.

After I built my engine and dropped it in it was a huge relief. Once you see how thin the stock rods are and how weak the upper ring land of the stock pistons are, the thought of the motor letting go under boost isn't that far-fetched. It's definitely peace of mind to know you've got an engine that can withstand the torture of boost for daily driving.

its not that hard to swap an engine, and especially since its the SAME engine. its not like yur dropping in a cummins diesel. just take stuff apart and remember how it came apart, LAY EVERYTHING OUT AND NEAT AND LABEL WHAT IT WENT TO, then as your putting it all back together reverse your process.

when i did my clutch in my scoob i had never touched a scoobaru in my life! i tokk it apart over my vacation a few hours at a time to remember how it was all assembled and it dropped back in without any problems.

Wait let me get this straight, you were able to turbo a car never meant to be turbo'ed. Tuned it YOURSELF granted with help but you still did all the changes and made it sing to the tune (literally lol) of 230whp using a program you had never before used or seen until undertaking this project. and bring it to a boost level few have had the ***** to do (including myself) with a stock bottom end and your gonna sit here and tell me that you cant do a simple engine swap. First time I did one in a lancer took me 8 hours by myself from towing it into the garage to driving it out. Now I would put money on me doing one in under 5 hours by myself. All I gotta say is you got this bro don't sweat it

Out of my morbid curiosity what IS the stock WHP of a base lancer?

I know 230whp is around the level of a stock evo 8 and thats at 18psi dropping to 16psi.

ALRIGHT 03LANCE IS CALLING ME A POOTANG BASICALLY I will attempt the swap, luckily I got a shop down the road that can probably help me out with the swap anyways the only thing thats killing me is the engine hoist...

03lance if I could quote this whole thing I would you basically inspired me to get off the puss wagon and just man up about it, I read a few post about a guy not getting his thing in gear or something, then I saw an evo 8 one guy tried swapping his motor and the evo tuner laughed and was like you could damage your engine or have alot of leaks

stock is 120 something to the crank, and 98 to the wheels\

heres what I dont understand... the evo 8 engine can put out around 500hp stock motor.... so why is my motor rated to 400hp? shouldnt it be able to do more since the internals are alot stronger? just curious...

Dont let them scare you bro just dont force anything together that seems to be stuck just be patient and look at it from all angles and find the hang up. it will slide together pretty easy and remember to pull the engine and trans together. You can rent a hoist for cheap or I bet you could find one online for cheap. I paid $100 for mine used off someone although it was still new he used it one time very nice hoist too

dude stop worrying and just do it. When I did the swap on my friends car I had never done anything but swap the side mirrors on the car. I took my time and finished it in 2 days but that was with remving the other engine from the crash car and all the old motor from his. Your motor is already out.

Get your *** off the computer chair and go do it, damn it!!!!

That motor is rated to 400hp because of the K1 rods it has. The K1 rods aren't like the Pauter or Crower rods for the 4G94. They are an 'economical' forged conrod. The Crower rods are rated to about 700hp and the Pauter rods are more that that. If you look at the K1 rods in comparison to a Crower/Pauter rod you will see the difference in thickness. That's where the 400hp number comes from. This is a number from K1 & SpeedCorps.
