I would like to just swap my 3" downpipe anytime I want without issues from the pan.

Anyone have any objections to this or has this been talked about?
I looked when thinking about getting a spare instead of tapping my current one. They look way different, like I just can't see any way they would be interchangable. Probably the 4g9x series could all interchange but not the 4g6x...correct me if i'm wrong (senate)

Hoping to get a
2003-2006 evo 8
Black, white, or silver preferably white
Under 80k

What are you opinions as well on this?
Meh...so many fun newer evos rollin now, I think for a "dream car" you can do better than a 9 year old evo. But, that's up to you. If you have the 20 lb lancer, the evo's sorta the same categorty. Maybe...2 door RWD, or a truck, or something different...old muscle car? new mustang? I just think 2 lancers is like having an xbox360 and an xb0x360 elite.

well I could always sell the lancer with the built motor and turbo and just pay off the evo, its my dream car because it has everything I want, AWD pretty much a built motor because its capable of 500hp and I like the body style. Plus its cheap once I get the money together. I wouldnt mind having a turbo gt mustang 99-04 year but the evo would have much more dominance over it because its lighter.

Also wanted to add, theres nothing wrong with the lancer dont get me wrong its a really nice car, the only trouble im having to deal with is the front wheel drive, if there was some possible way of making it awd I would keep it in a heartbeat, I was trying to do some research and seeing about doing to 4G64 swap from the eclipse and seeing if the awd tranny from the gsx eclipse would bolt on without an problem and changing up the axles in the front and using a gsx awd parts to connect to the car and swap out the gas tank as well. But even in reality your talking about 4-5k maybe more since parts are cheaper now compared to 2002 threads I was reading about stuff being like 10k and up

Gah, don't do that....sell it and buy AWD. Turbo custom is enough, but custom axles and all this crap and eventually you're the only one who can work on the car since you know what's done and you can't sell it without pretty much a huge loss.

gl trying to sell the lancer even built.....im having a hard time selling it stock!

and you should know this that some to most of the g63/64 engine parts are not compatible with a g94....

awd is the only way to go. trust me i was in the same boat as you are with what to do with the lancer, and look at me now. more parts and a heavier car but its worth it all the way....

Yeah...okay, a "subie" would probably be my attainable dream car. Evo's are nice, but i like the styling of new subarus. soooo agressive

+1 if something breaks it would cost more to replace because its custom not built with the car originally so I would be screwed. It would make the car alot faster indeed because it would still be lighter than the evo but the cost is to great

I can sell my car easily for 3k here in texas, and I can get at least 2k for my turbo kit parting it out, and at least 1k for my motor which would give me close to 6k, and im approved for a 8-9k loan but I dont care if the evo was wrecked or not I would keep it regardless because I think they are some sweet rides.

I know I have been on and off with this evo thing but I dont want to be thought of as a traitor cough JRR cough lol jk bro

you guys have been a big help with the car but in reality my goal is to make a 500 hp dd/street car. In reality would you guys want an evo or a lancer. Nothing wrong with the lancer but all of us are having a hard time with traction when laying down that kind of power. If the lancer came with awd oh you bet I would not give this car up in a second

Make sure if you get one not to get equal length headers then cause then it would sound like any other 4 banger with a turbo. The unequal length header is the key to the subie rumble.

I think it would be pretty darn funny if someone made unequal length headers for the evo to imitate the subie sound though many would call that sacrilege :P.

one main reason i got the sube is because i needed a car and the pric was totally awesome. BUT i can tell ya this now from working on both cars i can tell ya which one ill buy next and it dont have 3 diamonds on the logo either. the sube is so much easier to work on and especially after replacing alternator and clutch master and slave, the sube is awesome. plus looks like in a few years there wont be an evo with mitsu going more eco friendly.......dam hybrids.

on a side not to that it takes more energy and pollutes more to build a prius than it does to make a fuel effiecient camry....

yeah I found out a week ago the the evo x is the last one thier making, mitsu is not going to last much longer making these hybrids.

good news is evos will be cheaper
bad news is - parts are going to be more expensive

Ya I agree with everyone here. Your setup now is great but awd would be something I could see a business doing to promote there work or something like that but not for someone just to do the price would be crazy high. I like subies and I have driven and worked on both subies and mitsus. I still like the mitsu better despite some flaws. Evo 9 all the way for me when its my turn to buy a car, already let the wife know . Course have to get her next car first its only fair.

If you still think its easy try to build the motor on it

Mits is way easier , i work at a Subaru/Evolution performance shop and i can easily say Mitsubishi is a way easier car to work on and i would say better performance car . Have fun breaking the tranny many times on the Wrx
