called the insurance company, it was a misunderstanding and they were trying to scam me saying they have the title and were writing you a check and you are not authorized to pick parts off the vehicle. I told them wait a minute I never authorized you through the credit union anyways so its still my vehicle and if your service is this bad I you won't get the title and you will deliver the car here. The guy apologized saying his notes were not updated....

I swear insurance companies are shady....

I see no one has bidded on my parts yet, do you guys want me to get another lancer and just install the motor and push it? Still having a hard time finding evo's online and my dealer won't get an evo for another month.... If yall can help me find another lancer that is manual in silver before I can find an evo let me know and I might as well just do that. I will still have my insurance money for coilovers or I can use it for the evo conversion as well....

 

I think its what you want Steven. Do you want to continue pushing the limits of the base lancer? Or do you just want to go ***** out on an evo? Honestly if I were in your position I personally would find me an evo although I wouldn't necessarily look for the "cheapest" one out there, remember you get what you pay for and most people who buy an evo dont buy it as a grocery getter

BTW you gotta watch those ins companies I have had to deal with them on a couple different occasions dont let them try and confuse you on your rights in this ordeal.

 

heres what I want to in general, a car that looks nice, and make it a 500 hp daily driver... thats pretty much it and I will call it done for modding cars for a while, I already know I can do an evo conversion on the lancer followed by turboing the the car which I already know how to do. Plus parts are cheap on the car, vs getting an evo 8 which motor is already rated to 500hp, it looks nice, but parts are expesive.


Called my agent insurance is going to be 161 a month with the same coverage which indeed is not that bad

 

steven getting to 500hp is cake walk with an evo motor all the parts needed are in my sig minus the double pumper to get to it on e85.

 

all I need to do is find an evo now and im done.


Good news and bad news.

Lil jeff who lives like 20 mins from me thinks he can fix my car which is really good news.

Bad news - If he can fix it I just wasted my time putting up the for sale, and I got everyone excited for no reason.


The only way I can tell if its fixable is by getting that hood off so Tomorrow should tell alot...

Heres what I will do I will post pics when the hood comes off and you guys tell me if I can replace it and if the insurance company is lying to my about it being
4 grand in damages... Its so hard finding an evo in my area im trying to branch out and its still dicfficult the search is on peoples

anywho i know what you mean steven about insurance companies. i finally have an insuarnace rep that knows cars and modded cars at that. side note i found out about her is that shes the only female in the last 10 years to win the demo derby at my hometown county fair! so she understands why when i said im going to do all the work myself from my uh-oh i had a few months ago, and the adjuster who came out said "are you sure you want to do it yourself, thats a lot of work?" ya shes cool....

 

oh and 4k in repairs for a front collision in about average. i thechnically had mine done in about 1500 but i did all the work and bought all my own parts....

 

It actually is really easy to accrue 4k in damages as far as an ins co is concerned. The shop labor is the biggest fee of all. Anyways if you decide not to fix it im interested in the evo cluster if no one else has expressed interest. Tried to post in your fs thread and the Damn database went down lol.

 

Finally got hood undone, fender pulled off, radiator, and headlight, and I have to say I'm impressed hardly any damage so I'm putting this thread on hold and doing a thread called 02 lancer evo conversion

alright today was a good day but here is the good and bad news

Good news is my car is fixable and its not going to cost 4k in damages...

The insurance company was trying to scam me bad and they would have made The insurance guy was like ok your getting bak 2600 sir is there anything else I can do for you and when I asked him how much is it to buy my car he was like ahh ohhh let me check on that... waited 2 minutes, umm about 600 dollars is that ok... like trying to get me to say no. so what would have happen was the insurance would have made 2k off my car at an auction, and a dealer would have made 2k just fixing it, minus the selling price.

Bad news
I won't be selling the parts and I didnt mean to get everyone excited I honestly believed it was seriously wrecked with the way the insurance made it seem like. And my for sale post got flagged due to no name and date on the pics to verify its my parts.

So I want to apologize to everyone for my mistake but I am doing the evo conversion so once I figure out how to do it I will post up a how to and it better be made a sticky for everyone

I called a company yesterday who said they might be able to do the swap but they said it might have some fitment issues

does anyone know if the evo 8 core support is a direct bolt on to our frame? Just trying to figure this out I would love to get the car up and running within the next 2 weeks or so
