clifford remote start unit install is complicated. mine came with instructions to do it myself but i just had a pro do it because it is really complicated. but if you know what you are doing, then follow the instructions that come with cliffords(they are nice systems). plus, mice was really complicated since i had the remote start disabled b/c i have a manual

pay someone to do it if your asking questions, no offense either pay or find someone who knows what they are doing and have em stand over your shoulder.

BestBuy and Good Guys charge about $100 - $125 for alarm install. I'd think they charge about the same for a remote start, also you get lifetime warranty on labor from them.

Take the plug off the back of it...

Then you need to make sure nobody starts the car while it's in gear. This can be done by rigging a ground loop with the gearshift, chassis, and a coathanger...

My remote won't remote start while in gear, but I can't say anything about manually starting it that way. Rule of thumb, if someone else is going to be driving your car, make sure you have the system set so it won't start in gear. Run a search.
