Try inheriting from your old xml file if you can then close out ecuflash and see if it created the file. My desktop was being *****y too :P

but the thing is, even if theres no def file, ecuflash is still loading it blank...
its like ecuflash have some kind of memory usage like a RAM..

i found a fix!
replace your def file on your evo rommetadata!!
ecuflash is reading our ecus as an EVO! lol

so in my case, i have two xmls, one for the 256kb and one for the 512 ones.
the 256kb xml should be in the lancer rommetadata and 512kb should be in the evo one.

i know it is lol
its reading as a 2002 JDM evo 800XXX15.
also, i dont mind ecuflash reading my car as an evo

Are you saying the ROM should be placed under the EVO folder instead of the Lancer folder?

The xml file apparently needs to be there.

There must be some kind of wierd programming bug in ecuflash that makes it think its an evo rom.

UPDATE: not all ecus/roms, but in my case yes.
links case needs to be checked first. i need to look at his roms.

@spike: try it out. maybe its just my comp thats f up.
