i honestly have no idea why it sounds like that. my other car is a 2000 ford focus SE and i have a AEM SRI on that. The way it sounds outside is the way it sounds inside the car too. i dunno why its different with my lancer. hmm.. i should try switching the intake and see what happens

NExt6 improvements for intake will involve a new grill to route cool air in and a heat shield that can be bought separately. Stay tuned.

Very cool. Two very solid ideas.

 

i got the heatshield that was linked here on ebay and it gave a bit of trouble installing coz it kept falling off even though i tightened the s**t out of it. anyways i ended up modifying it a bit and i think it kindda comes a lil too short for the rrm intake. im still testing it though so i cant really tell you guys how it is right now. sound wise, it got pretty quiet on regular runs but soon as the high rpms hit it sounds a lot deeper.

 

from past experiences... ebay motor never has proper parts. their fitment was always bad.. good luck funky

 

which heat shield did you get?

 

Theyu could not have one for the Lancer. They just say that and stick you guys... We will do a specific one for the Lancer. Just be patient.
