yeah, i think it wouldnt restrict the airflow. or if it does, prolly too little you wont even notice it.

I'll try to get the heatshield off of ebay and see whats up. if it doesnt fit in the lancer i can always put it on my focus. hehehe

I never said anything about radiation...Im confused as to why you are bringing that up. I know you dont need sunlight to radiate heat.

White is the color it is because it reflects the most sunlight. Black is the color it is because it reflects the least amount of sunlight. The more sunlight you reflect, the less heat you are absorbing. Hence me saying it doesnt matter what color it is since it is under a hood, there will be no sunlight hitting the thing to be absorbed.

Radiating heat is not going to have anything to do with the color either. The material is going to be the factor with how quickly it loses heat, just like how quickly it takes in heat (like I've already said).

lol god this sounds like star trek,

jesus, lol just use CF haha its the best thing, its light and doesnt transfer heat

You state a true fact but then you go and throw it all away. White does reflect all wavelengths and therefore you see it as white because white is simply a combination of all the colors, and yes Black is black because it absorbs all wavelengths and therefore nothing is reflected for your eye to see, but the heat IS transfered from the sun via radiation therefore you are talking about radiation, and yes the color that you see does effect both the absorbtion and the emission of energy. The material and shape of the object DO also affect the thermal capacitance, as well as the conductive and convective heat transfer.

Ok, thats explaining it. When you were saying radiating heat, I was thinking about the energy coming off the metal, not the sun

You're right, heat is transfered by radiation from the sun too, I wasnt thinking about that part

ok just bought it. lets see if it fits. LOL anyways back on the intake...

when my girl first heard the intake she said that it kindda sounded like cans. so i made we stepped outside and i asked my friend to drive my car, pass us and hold the rpm at about 3500. he did just that and he was on 3rd gear i believe. it sounded great! i dont know why the interior sounds a lil rusty to me but outside the car sounded deep. after that i looked at my girl and i swear this is what she said " OMG my baby's starting to grow up " HAHAHAHA priceless... thanks RRM

is there a reason why it sounds like that? the 08 lancer is the only car, with an aftermarket intake that sounds like that, from all the intakes ove heard
