If you want to try again call me. I have not given up on you. Only other idea for your car would be to custom tune piggy and richen it a little along with keeping the intake installed. Try it if you like. Call me if you want more info.

I still think this intake sounds better then alot of CAI/SRI intakes I have heard out there finest fodder. And your mom has a SRI on her car thats frickn to funny. hehe I can still get someone fired up in 2 sentences or less.

And to get back on topic a little: Has anyone replaced the RRM SRI air filter with another brand? If so, which one? The top metal ring fell off of mine, so my confidence in whichever brand RRM is using is a little shaken.

Actually with SEMA over for us anyways. Heat shield is coming but we might need to do a redesign on it to make it work right. We are driving another prototype SRI to SEMA Vegas to make sure no codes. Been a week around town without any codes but we are going on a long trip too.

No offense, but those things are like 10-cents. It's easy any of them to fail. Just snag another at the parts store...

Thanks for the good topical picture. Let's get back to the intakes, folks!

Hey, if you didn't read the title when you clicked, this thread is about RRM's SRI. If you'd like to debate the Injen CAI, go post in that thread.

Any other OT posts will be removed. Thank you.

Under normal driving situations (ie. not flooring it frequently ) how much of a difference in fuel consumtion can one expect after installing this?

There's no hard numbers. But don't expect large amounts. Extra 10-20 miles per tank of gas. Not earth-shaking, but it'll pay for itself over time (if you're being optimistic about it).

So a decrease, albeit small, in fuel consumption then? I was expecting it to be worse off with an SRI

I have been reading this thread for about 2 months now. I started the day after I got my GT. I am proud to say I was the first and only Lancer GT owner in Jamica for about a month. Anyhow .. on to business.

Two days ago I installed my RMM SRI ..Thank you to the kind people of RMM for getting the part to me all the way ing Jamaica.

So i took out the air box , drop in the SRI .. BOOM!!. Its starts to rain... and rain and rain and rain... I didnt get to reset the ECU. And i drove it home. Loved the sound but wasnt feeling the perfomance. It wasnt accelerating likeit used to and it didnt buld compresstion like it used to when gearing down. ( I have the CVT). The next day I got a chance to reset the computer and i noticed that things were back to mormal and i am noticing a lil increase in the acceleration and and m y compression is back. I havnt done much driving due the crappy weather we been having but i am lookinng forward to more results.

Btw... How long does it take the ECU to learn the new MOD?

I think some people have recommended unplugging the battery and then letting the car idle for about 15 mins so the ECU can make the necessary adjustments to incorporate the SRI?
