DarkMitsu's 4g64 Swap Page
What was the reason for doing the swap? do you like the 4g64 better or just want to be different? it sounds like you put a whole lot of work into this so far, And i vote for turbo wanna see how it does. what are you wanting to run at the track with it as it is?

Reasoning for doing the swap wanted the .4 more liters of displacement , and I really like the 4g63 and 4g64 series engines both in form and function . I wish the lancer body came with the 4g64 stock from the factory or at least the same 4g63 n/a engine they put in some of the european models. as it sits right now when its raining you have to try not to spin tires in first and second and I expect it to run high 15 to low 16 in the form that it is , goal would be mid 14 second daily driver...
wow a high 15 would be great with completely stock g64, if thats what u manage to get imagine what rpm would have gotten with 60 more hp that he had. what do u think like low 14s NA? i would be ecstatic with those kind of numbers, i mostly wanna murder New Si's and diesel trucks.
Im working on gathering parts for my 4g63 swap and im starting with the f5m422 does it matter what one i get. They have one from and 03 with 88k for 700 or one from a 04 with 65k for 650. I dont know what the difference is if any. on there comp though it shows that there is a diffrence in trans from 08 of 03 to those prodeced 09 of 03 and later. Do you know what the difference is? And what one should i look into getting thanks. Also when you did the swap since our axles fit once you put in out diff could you take and have someone respline the eclipse axles if need be so they fit into out stock spindles?

lol I have read all the thread several times. And the reason he switched differentials is so he could stick with lancer axles. Because they are smaller in diameter compared to the eclipse axles. But what I was asking is if he thinks it’s possible to use the eclipse axle. He or someone else might be able to answer my questions are they the same length or longer then lancer axles. So I could just machine the outside of it to fit the lancer or trim it down. I don’t have spare Mitsubishi parts lying around like some guys do on this forum. But I do have mechanical knowledge and a full machine shop at my disposal.
1/4 mile times will come , as soon as my buddies eclipse build is complete , we will be going to the track and will be running the lancer as well in the form it is now... Jeez to many projects at the same time... that 95 eclipse gsx is gonna be sick 2.4 4g64 sbr stage 1 or stage 2 bottom end (dont remember which one he order) , dohc head , t3 30r 4 inch anti-surge housing , dnp t3 manifold , maf-t pro , 650cc injectors , 44mm tial wastegate , hks ssq bov , front mount i/c , custom hard i/c piping , act flywheel , act clutch , walbro 255lph intank fuel pump , aem wideband , autometer oil pressure , autometer boost gauge , apexi turbo timer, k&n 4 inch filter ...
ok, but it WILL work right, people do it to gst's, why not a lancer?
Okay so whats the tranny code after all? i finally got my car paid off so im gonna start buying parts and i think ill get the tranny first.

Remember that the engine codes may be the same, but the engine is completely turned over, so parts may not just bolt on. If I'm not mistaken the same parts from an evo do not work on the G63T of an eclipse. The transmission will DEFINITELY not work. the transmission from the previous eclipse is on the left side, while ours is on the right.
Sigh...you're just not getting what I'm saying about our cars being FWD. We're only a 4 lug pattern, we can't add thicker tires to hold that traction. You want to add THAT much power to that G64 and your lancer, knock yourself out but don't expect to move much. This engine swap is a great move for lancer guys but we can't afford to go THAT high in power.
