my understanding was that interchanging "families" (the 3rd number in the ID... 4g94 vs 4964) was never a "bolt-up" situation... someone correct me if i'm wrong?

i want to know why we couldnt swap a gst engine into the lancer. it seems that at most all you would need to do is fab negine and possible transmission mounts. please s0meone with genuine swap knowledge answer some questions.

i can't imagine that this idea has not been fathomed before, and it not having been done is probably for a good reason. is there material on this subject matter already posted on the forum? (i'm not gonna run the search...)

OK, I know for sure that the 90-99 4G63T motors dotn swap easily because they sit backwards to our car. I am tellin you guys, I really think someone should look more into how easliy that swap is. I wouldnt think it would be THAT hard. And nexus, nice car bro! And if you really want to I will consider taking that wing off your hands. hehe.

I think the main problem might be transmission/axles. I mean, I'm willing to bet that the 5spd on the Ralliart and all the way down to the wheels are Eclipse in origin. I mean, 5 lug hubs...

What he's refering to is the axles and the wheel studs being different size than our lancers. Are the widths of the cars the same? Will the Tranny linkage hook up properly?

I beleive they are more along the line of EVO parts in all actuality.

I am willing to bet that the Lancer Ralliart has more in common with the current generation Eclipse than the Evo, I doubt if there any similarities between the Evo and the 02-03 Lancer or the 04+ Lancer. I could be wrong in this sense, but it costs alot of money for a car manufacturer to re-tool machines to build a completely different chassis. A good place to start would be the mitsubishi website, see what the front suspension of all the cars are, and see if you cant find how many splines the CV joints are. Another good place to check out different cars are wrecking yards, you can pull parts off all you want and compare for free.
