WTF? Not saying you guys are bashing me, but I need to get this out!!!!

Yeah and I care because.... I like my car the way it is and will do what I want, don't care who thinks what is ricey or tacky or fake! I don't think anybody on here is gonna be driving my car, so whatever is whatever I guess those same people would tell me not to put an EVO VII kit on my lancer, huh? I personally can't stand debadged trunks, see how that happens; now you probably like your debadged trunk and I don't. So I will continue to love and cherish my EVO VII letters on my lancer especially when I get my EVO VII body kit on. I will not apologize for not paying a mortgage between car payment and insurance to have an EVO and besides with a kid on the way I would not be able to do all the stuff to that that I would want anyway and IF I did have one I would need to sell it by this winter because of having a kid and buying a house. I just don't get why people bi@cth and moan about this stuff sometimes. I mean it's not like most of us are like the guy that had the Type R or whatever on his lancer. Now I feel much better. Back on topic I had one friend call me from Michigan and some idiot asked him if his EVO was a SKYLINE, how stupid is that? I'm sure he would like to have a Skyline instead though. Usually people just see my car from the side and see my wheels and ask me if it's an EVO and I tell them that it's a baby one without the steroids!! LOL.

ben chill, they make pills for outbursts like that. i understand your plight. in the post in off topic, i said if you had a turbo coupled with the badging, then i guess it would be as close as you could get. besides if you PNP, upgrade stock and run decent boost, you could smoke a stock STi, with your pseudo evoVII and SOHC. so to me that is impressive. in the meantime pimp the SHlT out of it.

I know thanks dude, I just had to vent to everybody out there, that people just need to let people do what they will with their own cars. I can only pimp for a little bit with a kid on the way most of my plans are done unless I can get a sponsorship!

I raced a lightly modded eclipse a year ago. I passed him and we pulled over to chat. He told me "Nice Evolution man!" I was like "dude its not an evolution, just an OZ". I kept thinking to myself, man if I was driving an evolution, I would have really handed you your ***. Some people just don't know their cars well enough.

man if you guys think you have it bad with people sometimes calling your car an evo...... i probably have it worse..... I have a 2.5rs and i have never had one person ever call it a "2.5rs", they all say "hey nice WRX" or "is that your wrx over there" or "how fast is your wrx" and so on and so on..... they will even be standing right behind the car with the 2.5RS badge staring them right in the face, and they will still call it a WRX. I guess it doesn't help that my car comes stock with the heat vents, hood scoop, and STi v3 wing on it so it is really easily mistaken by people who don't know.... it kinda annoys me though when i have to correct everyone....

props to lancers though, nice cars. Lancers , civics

EDIT: funny thing also... a few months ago i was sitting at a stop light with the windows down, and i heard some kids waiting to cross the street say "hey look! its a lancer evolution!". Since I was in canada and all and i know there are no lancer evo's, i was looking around saying to myself "where? i don't see it...." until i notcied that they were talking about my car, pointing at it. I get the whole thing of some people mistaking a lancer es,oz,ra for an evo.... but comon..... a subaru????

ok, Ben can do what he wants with his car. To me, it's no different than a guy dressing in drag. Obviously pretending to be what it's not, but he knows is himself and if he can fool other people in the meantime, fine. And people who know what's what will know what to look at (the engine or the adam's apple)

and as for that person bashing on the Subaru, I have yet to find a Subaru that is outperformed by a Lancer. The 2.2 and 2.5 both have more power and better traction. And if you're talking about an 80s Legacy, you're laughing at a junky looking "beater" that has a turbocharged engine and AWD. I still love my Lancer, but I don't pretend it's better than it is.
