08 Lancer vs ???? merge
first of all, 9% interest? you saw that and still signed the dotted line???
i honestly feel bad for people like you. either people who got tricked by the dealer or people who just plain don't know how to play the game. i suggest insurance fraud. have the car "stolen", totalled, and then use the money to get out of that sh*tty loan. j/k
as for the original question, what i think nobody failed to emphasize is that the RSX is simply a better engine to start with. stock the k series is impressive. stock the 4B11 or 4B12 is NOT. don't kid yourself. adding a high flow intake doesn't do much if the major restriction is in the ports or at the valves. for a quick example take a good look at the 4B11's intake manifold design and then look at the K20A's. that's the difference from sporty vs economy.
tuning can almost be described as optimizing the car's engine/suspension/etc. but it all goes back to basics. a tire with a 20" wide contact patch is useless if the compound is slick as butter. likewise a crazy glue sticky tire is useless if it has a 1" contact patch.... good software ("tuning" or "race parts") won't do sh*t if you have crappy hardware (crappy engine design, crappy stock parts, etc.)

FTW!!! we agree haha... besides that... I made a big mistake buying this car because I wanted a faster car(Although I still love it). My intention of going to South Coast Mitsubishi was to get a Used '04-'06WRX which came out to be the same price and I left with a GTS. What got me for some reason was the look, knowing others didn't have it, and family pressure, plus the woofer(haha). See for the same price, if you wanted a faster car, you should've got a used WRX. As for just adding numbers, from what i've learned is that you have to prep your list of the mods that will work good together. For example. From a Dyno, Injen's CAI was suppose to produce 9HP but when paired with RRM Piggy Back, it actually showed a loss. So good luck

lord, your getting raped by the bank and the insurance company, what company are you with. I feel so bad now, you should talk to my agent, someone has to have a better rate then that. my girlfriend bought a GTS she has two accidents one her fault and she pays 200 living in scarborough lol. my insurance for the GTS is 110 with no accidents . being 27. even if I was 24 it came up to 150
How the F*#(*$# do you pay 500
How the F*#(*$# do you pay 500
My deals were brokered, because I bought more then one lancer but the second one, fully loaded GTS 08 30000 including undercoat included and winterforce winter tires. financing was at I think 5% and the charges brought it in around 34000 7 years , I could be worng but i think its 7 years
how much a month? because mine is for 7 years it comes to $35000 with the trade in tint and some sickness coverage and rest is interest around $12600 so total for 7 years 48000 and i pay 574 a month
to be honest I would have to wait till the car is here for me to check the bill of sale. I dont remember the specifics, I have helped along too many deals to remember the specifics. But pm me if you dont hear from me within the next day or so to remind me
08 Lancer vs 08 Rabbit
What do you guys have to say. I saw they have the same tread in the rabbit owners club and they said rabbit wins in all aspect hands down and that the the lancer is slow. What do you guys think? I dont think the rabbit is all that fast + i had a jetta and man did the interior rattle. and a lot more like interior paint peeling off, squicking from the dash, CEL light on all the time.I dont know how much they improved from 2002 to 2008. But i wanna see what everybody else says
what is with the obsession with wanting to be able to out run everything. if you are that caught up in it you should have purchased a different car. and yes the Lancer is slow, i havent driven a Rabbit so i cant compare that. i have driven an 08 GTI and yes before you ask it will smoke the Lancers.IMO you would have benn better off buying a Shelby GT500KR. you like the rest the rest of us opted for an econobox. live with it, love it

if you check out the specs, the rabbit has 170hp...while the 09 has 168hp. The interesting thing is the gears, the ratios are completely different, but i dont know enough about the gear ratio setup to say which would be faster. Id say there a good match to each other, but i got the lancer for the looks. Wanted to get the evo X, but thinking about it know, i didn't want to spend that much money being a guinea pig and all...
In the latest C&D the '09 Lancer GTS beat the Imprezza, Rabbit, Scion xD, and 3 other cars (I think the other three were the Corolla, Focus, and a Kia but I'm not 100% sure) to 60 and in the 1/4 mile. The '09 Lancer GTS was the fastest 1/4 mile car they tested, but it fell to 2nd place (or was it 3rd ... it was real close) in their 0-100mph test, and fell to 2nd or 3rd in the 5MPH rolling start acceleration test.
For over all balanced performance (braking, acceleration, grip and handling), the Lancer and the Imprezza were neck and neck at the top of the list. Some of the other cars might have beaten the Lancer and Imprezza in one area, but they would fail badly in another.
When it came time to declare a winner, C&D took all things into consideration; ergonomics, usable space for cargo, front leg room, rear leg room, build quality, etc.. As a whole car, they voted the Rabbit as the best in the test group.
*shrug* I found the article to be an interesting read. I especially liked the "verdicts" they had for some of the cars. Like the Ford they reviewed had a verdict of something like "A cheap car dressed cheaply", that's not an exact quote, but it's the gist of what they said... I think the '09 Lancer GTS got a verdict of "Ok, now am I fast and furious?" or something very similar.
