Interceptor How long have you been using mobil 1. Do you go for extended drain intervals, Just swap the filter every coupple thousand, Or all fresh stuff at 3000. Just a few questions.

been using Mobil 1 since the first oil change, I use new oil and filters everytime. I try to do it at 3000, but may go over alittle due to how much money and time I have at the time. I do the same on my 89 t-bird, and it has over 190,000 miles on it. Must be doing something right.

i use Quaker State 10w-30 High Performance Syn-blend and K&N oil filter. I change the oil and filter every 3,500 mile. No problem ever.

You know, if we really wanted results as to which oil does best in our Lancers, we could all do an oil analysis on Bob's site (mentioned above). For $20 you get an oil catch kit, then send it in for analysis... That would tell us who is doing it right, rather than just having a bunch of random posts regarding people's opinions... I'm coming up on 57,000 miles in my Lancer, which will be time to change the Mobil1 that's been in it since 47,000 miles (10,000 mile drain interval)... I've changed the filter once, at 5,000 miles, both times using a Fram. I'm willing to throw down my $20 and see how my oil is holding up and whether my extended drain interval theory about Mobil1 holds water.... who else is with me???

Yeah man I really cant argue with what ive read. I believe your oil will still be good. And the particles they find would just be normal stuff. Next change im going over to syntetic myself. I will also follow the extended drain intervals. Im looking pretty forward to it.
I want to try an oil analysis too. I will have to wait until the holidays are over then I can afford that.
I have a real hard time finding a store arond here that carries K&N filters that will fit my car. They Only stock 20 different K&N oil filters none for my car.
I did find a local dealer that sells Amsoil filters and supplies I think I might go through him.
Any way I will talk with you all latter.

I guarantee that mine would be awful, but my car's not running and was running poorly for the past 6-7 mos. I wouldn't expect much. Once I get it back to tip-top shape I may have to take you up on this offer.
