Hey guys i need a diagram or a some one to take a picture of their gas lid so i know how to put the clip that opens the gas lid when the handle is pulled one cause i was putting gas in one day and while putting it back i bumped and broke the clip off so now when i pull the handle it wont pop open now

 

I think you broke the same clip that I broke this past winter. The clip puts tension on the gas lid so that when you pull the handle next to the driver seat and the latch releases the gas lid, the clip pushes it open with the tension on it. When it's broken/missing, you need to gently pry the gas lid door open while someone pulls the handle to open the gas lid.

The Mitsu part number is MR970563. It's circled here in the diagram:

 

thanks seneate ur the best. lol Yea i was putting gas in and when i was done i saw that part fall off but was clueless on where it came from luckily i kept it and when i needed to put more gas i found out it was the reason the gaslid didnt open and i was able to do it by my self to open it so i can get gas but this morning i had to use my lil bro to help open it. This is what i needed since the diagram i had was a diffrent angle and i couldnt tell which one was it.

 

this helps me... i didnt know why mine never worked right after i bought it almost three years ago.. to this day i still have to put a book under the latch so i can get the gas cap open when im by myself...

do you know where i could get one of these or you think i could jerry rig one up? i meant what i do now is fine, but it would be nice for it just to pop open.. ha

When i bought my car, the broken clip was in my glove box and wondered what it was. I quickly found out lol. The stupidest and most confusing part on the evo if you don't what it is.
