Evo X vs. Evo VIII and IX
around here an econobox with a gigantic wing doesn't get a second look from anyone. if your car didn't cost north of 90K, noone cares.

for the most part, all those 90K cars are putting around like grandma.
I did get to run with a Ferrari California across the Roosevelt bridge one time back when I was bone stock. that was before putting down 400 AWHP on a mustang and upgrading numerous suspension pieces. Would hang with that car anywhere these days. One M3 years ago in the WRX.
the Lambo was driven like grandma.
the 911 Turbo was too (most porsches and bimmers the same).
did seen a bimmer crashed just past one of my favorite turns, he clearly over-countered a slide and bit the guardrail.
The two RS8s I've seen were both seriously flying (one probably near 100 in a 35 on whitehurst freeway), those guys seem to have fun.
but practically noone even notices my dirty, silver, mainly stock-looking IX. I'm just another ricer to everyone except petrol heads and a few little kids who think all the stock stuff is modified. I did get one dude on the street in adams morgan yell something about 2 fast, 2 furious!

Around here, a stock looking IX is a sleeper. And that's the way I like it.

Ill try to explain like I'm talking to a five year old. First you said the plastics are worse, then you disagreed about the aesthetics, then you quote someone stating that the seats in the X are better than the IX but you give them a sarcastic reply, which I took as "no way are the X seats better than the IX seats"
Sarcastic reply "It's all about the look. Why, of course!
" I took that as yeah they look nicer but are not better.
If you still don't get it then I'm sorry but I don't have or want to waist any more time explaining it to you.
Well I'm glad I for opinions from x owners and those who owned both. It seems the majority on both sections agree to keep the ix. Some think the x is a more comfortable car but in the end it's really wether or not I will be happy with either. I think I'm going to keep the car, clean it up and do what I wanted to do on the exterior, and use my beater as a daily. I want to get it out on the track more this upcoming season and see where it goes from there. That's where I truly appreciated the car.
EricS, if ur gonna sell the IX, sell it to south coast Mitsubishi, they pay top dollar for IX...or u can sell it to me and I'll haggle with u!
I'm trying to get a full line of evos. My aunt is on the hunt for evos I-VII in Japan, and I'm looking for VIII and IX. I already got the X. If I have to look for an VIII and IX in the junkyard, I will. But I want this collection in my garage in the future.

I had an VIII and it was more fun ti drive but I like the X better as a daily. More comfortable, but the the VIII felt much faster with similar bolton power. If I had a IX MR I'd keep it, it's like a gem. What other 6-7 year old car is still worth almost $30k?
I have 10 X GSR with 20k mi boltons and power in sig. I'll trade you!
