There will undoubtedly be performance parts/upgrades through Ford Racing and Mountune that will not void the warranty. http://fordperformanceracingparts.co...ement_2014.pdf

Note they offer a "power upgrade pack" for the Focus ST. I would expect something similar for the RS.

If I can get +50whp/+100wtq out of my Fiesta ST 1.6L, stock turbo the size of a doughnut hole and just a ECU tune and E40 fuel...

I can't wait to see what the 2.3L and larger turbo will do.

What's up Brian.
Just look at the EcoBoost Mustang. It reached 520 HP after being out for just 6 months.
But the dyno you should be truly excited over is the EFR 7163 on the 2.3 engine.

it really does sound horrible doesn't it.. standing and revving, with the popping and all isn't bad, but that first vid from inside the car... just sounds like a blender, no personality at all... I'm really hoping an exhaust / test pipe does a lot for this car

lets be honest here... this is kinda crap... aftermarket turbo and it puts out the power of a bolt on evo with the stock turbo... and this is a 2wd mustang so less drivetrain loss since this is on a dyno and whp and all. same (or very close) spool and powerband too

I'm really hoping the mods ford did to the RS steps it up a notch. but then again, with the evo no longer in production its just competing with the STi... so as far as stock turbo performance goes its not really pushing it

I'm willing to bet that dyno graph is on pump gas. Which would mean that is E85 territory for a stock turbo Evo..

I wish I had that torque curve.

Apparently that dyno was done just 3 months after the Mustang EB came out, so the entire platform was still in it's infancy, which includes the learning curve on new tuning software. BTW it's direct injection. I just hope Ford uses a similar ROM and tuning strategy between the MEB and FoRS so the tuners don't have to start from scratch. The hardware mods are easy, tuning will be the main hurdle.

i have a lot of love for the lil hatchbacks. going all the way back to the 90's honda civic hatchbacks thru to the scooby sti hatchbacks. this ford one definitely is an interesting contender in the awd turbo/rally scene. i love my evo to death and i would never sell it but i think i wouldnt mind this ford for a nasty lil daily driver haha. nice!

Down ~20whp and ~30wtq..

And we still don't know exactly what fuel the ecoboost was on...

Well since they finally released the specs and pricing I'm a tad bit disappointed. 38k before taxes so over 40k for it...... I love the way it looks but that's a hell of a price difference over an st just for awd.

AWD, bigger motor/turbo, brembo brakes, better tires, upgraded suspension. It's what an Evo cost in 2014. Not sure what the gripe with the price is.

??? It starts at $36,605 with destination.

A 2015 Evo GSR starts at $35,305 with destination.

Focus RS has Recaros, HIDs, keyless entry and Sync standard.

A 2015 Evo GSR with HIDs, keyless entry and upgraded stereo is $37,305 with destination.

So $36,605 for the RS vs $37,305 for the comparable Evo GSR.

For comparison, a base 2016 Golf R with manual transmission is $36,470 with destination and a base 2016 Subaru STi is $35,490 with destination

The Focus RS is directly in line with all other AWD offerings in its range. Just as an FYI.
