As a long time Ford of Europe fan I'm pretty eager to see this car stateside. I've driven a few Cosworths and they were the reason I my first car was a Merkur XR4Ti. Yeah, I know - they brought nothing of the Cosworth with that car lol

hmmmm not sure

edit- id just get the base trim, no need for a moonroof or premium forged wheels. So 35k is not bad at all, over 40 no way

Completely agree. Maybe consider seat upgrade but that'd be the only thing. The black forged wheels will probably end up in the marketplaces for much cheaper.

If this ends up being accurate, it'll be priced pretty competitively to the what I've seen. Golf R is 36,595. Sti is 34,695. Evo is 34, 495.

If those "premium forged wheels" also include the Pilot Sport Cup 2's for $1,395 that is a killer deal as those tires are approx $500 each on tire rack in 19's

Looks like the 19s + PSC2s is $1990, still not a terrible deal.

Overall, pricing is about what would be expected, and reasonable. Still, $40k for a hatch... Oi.

its not like its a 200 hp na fwd hatch... just cause it has a hatch instead of a trunk doesn't change anything in my book... in my mind this is like the Evo as far as pricing goes, and Evo X's easily went into the 40's

and GR STi's was also a hatch that was 40k...

I wonder if any 18" wheels will clear those front brakes. Being stuck buying 19" performance tires for life would suck.

I'm hoping they do... 18's fit on the Brembo equipped Mustang... at least the previous gen...

going off that pic prolly not all 18's... some wheels have a smaller barrel than others so they may not have enough clearance

Agreed, but...

The Focus ST3 (402A package, think it was 202A before) was something like $29k for a decked out, sporty car that was still practical. Made a lot of sense.

$40-42k for a Focus RS is suddenly real close in price to the Mustang GT and a slew of other sports cars. Different mission, maybe not AWD, but really changes the value proposition... for me at least.

I still think it's a kick *** car and I hope Ford sells a ton of them.

you can already buy a Mustang GT in the low 30's... maybe even high 20's.. these 2 might get cross shopped by a few people, but most people that want a Mustang just want a Mustang and the same for the Focus RS
