I'd be aiming for the $36K model.

for the RS? me too, I'd the the most base one + maybe the Pilot Sport Cup tire option. since those are 500 each, you can prolly get that, wear out the tires, upgrade to 18's and sell the "premium" wheels...

and seats if the Recaro's aren't standard...

GTs loaded out similar to the top end of the leaked RS options are in the low-mid 40s. So I think you're looking at really similar price points.

I agree that most people won't cross shop, but for the people just looking for performance bang for the buck, they will have a lot of options for similar money.

I also agree that paying $2000 for the wheel package isn't all that smart, unless the upgraded wheels are REALLY light.

The Recaros are part of the package that includes navigation (god damn it Ford, cell phones exist, shove your ****ing navigation... ) and will set you back $2800.

Options:
Recaros + Nav $2795
Sunroof $895
19" wheels with base tires $1395
19" wheels with PSC2s $1990

Not sure about anything else as the link was taken down before I got to it.

the logic behind the 2k wheel package is to sell the wheels once the tires wear out, although its hard to predict what the resale value of those will be.

So if the 19's with base tires are 1395... whats standard? 18's??? one can dream

I'm more pissed about the fact that Recaro's aren't standard for a car like this... take a look at the Evo (until a couple years ago) and STi, Recaro's standard! and seriously, who uses built in nav's these days?

The RS comes standard with partial leather and cloth Recaros. The upgraded seats in the RS2 package are fully leather and heated. The steering wheel is heated as well in that package.

The STi has never, ever had Recaros in the USA. Same seats as WRX with different cover.

I have the heated Recaros in my Fiesta. Really makes the car. They are actually tighter than the Recaros in the Evo 8/9 and even 10.

My Evo 10 Recaros are actually more 'comfy' then my Fiesta Recaros.

I'm hoping the US-bound RS Recaros are more like the Mustang Recaros. (Integrated head rest like Evo).

The Focus ST and Fiesta ST Recaros have separate head rests and the head rests are at a slightly awkward angle, especially with a helmet on.

Between styling and available options, this has the makings of the next cult car. All those potential Evo buyers that can't buy Evos anymore? Well, here you go.

I love the car. I just don't need a car that's just like my Evo.

I would wait to see if the Fiesta RS is awd. Smaller, lighter, and with proper flared fenders (hopefully).

I don't see VIII/IX owners jumping ship. I think they learned their lesson with the X LOL.
I can imagine X owners doing so, though.
(I think VIII/IX and X owners prefer their cars for different reasons)

Really? I thought the STi had unbranded Recaro's?

I for one hope the RS seats are closer to Evo X Recaro's... My mustang has Recaro's, while comfortable I think they're a bit too relaxed for a car like the RS...

Your comments on the Fiesta Recaro's make me wanna go find one and try it out... I didn't think there would ever be a production car with seats more hardcore than the Evo X (except for those special Porsches with fixed buckets)

I hear you on the headrest thing, I had the same issue when I had my 350Z. I would flip the headrest around so it's protruding the other way whenever I wore a helmet in the car, gave me clearance for the helmet while still providing some whiplash protection in case the **** hits the fan... Maybe you can try doing the same thing in the Fiesta?

I feel the same way. The heated seats and steering wheel is just not something I need from an AWD sports car, seems like unnecessary weight . I'm sure it will make for a nice comfy daily.

USDM literally have the exact same seats as the WRX with different covers.

Focus ST and Fiesta ST have the same Recaros. They are tighter and more aggressive then my Evo 10 seats and also have more adjustment range. Up / Down and forward / back.

Actually looks like the USDM RS will have the same Recaros:

Fiesta ST:

Focus ST:
