Focus RS
Evo VI has weaker shell
But you "feel" more long wheelbase and overall girth that shell difference driving fast on mountain roads. I am unaware of shell difference, while driving.
I drive both, and with others in CT9A me in VI...
It's clear early car just fits better!
Regarding results: I am on my phone so grabbed 1 live timing ERC result active now,
10th overall beating most R5 cars Evo IX
21st overall Evo X
http://www.fiaerc.com/live-timing/
Rally international du Valais
All I am saying IS Evo IX as rally car matches Evo X for results.
Why I don't specifically know, never investigated.
They are full race cars so irrelevant to us.
But I am positive that for track day and backroad bombing, and Evo IX will always go faster then X due to weight and body size advantage.
Speaking of near stock vehicles the types enthusiasts drive.
And TME will go faster yet on backroad, easier to place on road, rotates significantly better, and visibility is outstanding.
Again, road modified car- no race car.

Oh, my. Sorry I mentioned it LOL
I was saying I thought Ambystom made a good point of WHY some people think that, not implying its true or false.
I take it all back.

I'm blown away (not really) and surprised (not at all) that you guys are finding things to pick apart and argue about from my post.
Internetz, you're the best. This thread has to be up there on the list of worst threads in Evom history. And I've been here since the beginning.
Where is Dynoflash?

OK, ok,
it was a terrible derailment.
I had to defend the cars I learned to love.
I was in the market for Evo X, very very deeply trying out Stock, Modified with BBK-X (not like but net size up like Full on CT9A) and even BBK-B that Bryan tuned (Todd's old car 450whp on MD), to finally inspect the nuts Evo X that was initially tuned by Bryan - totally gutted Evo X flat black full cage with AMS 2.0, 2.2, 2.4 and BIG TURBOS hang off, making 600whp plus on Mustang..you remember this car Bryan, it was then tuned/built again (motor) by FFTec, 2 times.
OK, today at Willow Springs Raceway there were 4-5 Focus RS cars.
No story yet what they were doing exactly, but I assume testing something important.
The fact they were at WSR is big deal- somebody means to make them good.
Sport Auto in Germany posted a video, drifting at will a Focus RS...likely with handbrake, but maintaining a drift smoothly thru the turn radius. It means its Drift mode works...
I hope that makes up a little for discussion outside the objective.

this is promising. as for the "drift mode", i get my car sideways for fun from time to time. i have no problem with the RS doing so as well LOL. i'd imagine it needs "drift mode" because it normally doesn't have a f/r power split that works well for getting the rear out that way.
