ok, that is true, but ACD does influence the behavior of the car and oversteer/understeer balance when sliding around.

However, AYC influences the bias greatly because it is able to push the nose of the car into the corner and induce oversteer... depending on Ecu programming of course. I suspect that the special diff that the RS has does something similar.

i dont like the fact they keep circling back always to the drift button..

 

But do the pops and gurgles do anything other than "sound" cool? Like does it help keep the turbo spooling or anything?

No I am serious. In the videos they just say that it wastes fuel. They do not say "why" they added the pops and burbles. Is it just adding extra fuel into the exhaust to make it sound mean, or does it do anything else?

 

You kinda just answered your own question.
"Wastes" means it's not doing anything useful.

So it increases EGT's, lowers fuel efficiency, and yields zero performance gain

 

They stated why in an earlier video. It's an added visceral element much like in the Jaguars, etc.

 

My old 98 Neon R/T with turbo kit had the pops and burbles on decel. That was one of my favorite things. Just sounded so mean.

Audi does it too. Yes, it's just for noise, much like piping intake noise into the cabin. I think it's cool.

 

exactly... for performance gain you need more bang and even more EGT...

 

Hum, I have mixed feelings about it. Kinda reminds me of cars that use speakers to "enhance" engine noise. Next step will be having a V12 blare through the speakers when accelerating

I guess I will have to drive a car with a pops and bangs tune to see if it puts a smile on my face.
