I'd easily pay that amount to drive on an F1 spec track, let alone COTA
Interesting race, that's for sure. Too bad Pirelli went waay too conservative on the tires.
As for all of you ripping on Vettel for complaining - he was NOT complaining about Hamilton passing him, he was *****ing about being balked by Karthekayan (sp?) in sector one just prior to Hamilton making the pass. I can't believe the commentators didn't pick up on that - one of the reasons I won't miss Varsha. He's nice and all, but he does miss quite a bit. If the HRT had gotten out of the way sooner, then Hamilton would most certainly not have been in a position to pass that lap. Bad luck for Vettel.
The Austin track definitely looks awesome. I hope they end up allowing track days on it. If so, I might have to make the trip down there in my Evo.
Brazil will certainly be fun to watch, especially considering the alternator troubles that keep haunting the RB and the ridiculous run of luck Alonso has enjoyed this season.

^ ferrari gots no shame.
love how vettle was b*tching even though hami made a clean pass. ... it's clear that RB was faster than McLaren all weekend. it all came down to the driver. does all the hami hater still thinks that he can only win because he was in a faster car. he out drove vettle even though he's in a lesser car, that's all there is to it.

One reason I'm not a Vettel fan is because he whines like a baby if things don't go his way. Eg: being passed or being help up by traffic in Hungary (I think). I remember him screaming to his team "Do something!" when he was stuck behind Button and couldn't pass. He could also attack and use the DRS to pass Hami but he didn't/couldn't. I don't think I've heard Hami complain that way without just cause. Eg: The Schumi incident @ Monza or Massa driving like a bonehead in India last year and running into him.
Speaking of Ferrari that was very un-sportsman like of them. I know its allowed in the rules and what they did was technically legal but it was kind of cheap. And the hard tires, they reminded me of the Bridgestone days where tire "maintenance strategy" didn't matter. Drivers could just keep pushing until they were worn out. That way you don't have drivers like Crashjean or Sergio "overrated" Perez show up on the podium.
But how about The Hulk and his 8th place finish in that turd of a FI car. The guy keeps impressing me more and more. Not to beat a dead horse, but I'm telling you guys he is a really good driver and is highly under-rated. Just a look at how much he beat team mate DiResta by. IMHO, for all intents and purposes based on car speed alone he should've been behind the Williams. But he finished in front of them and held them off. If he were driving a William, I honestly think he would've been battling it out with Renault and could've beaten them.
IMHO, the McLaren seat should've been his.
This is exactly what I was thinking. Perez is another Kovalianen. Lots of potential, but no results. I think McLaren will be adrift at sea next year.
Well, it is confirmed...$$$ talks at Sauber...Gut has replaced Kobay(http://www.autosport.com/news/report.php/id/104481)... so we will watch Gut B at the back for God NO's how long with Hulk as the only competitive driver.
On final note to Sauber:U need to fire UR track engineers for they do not NO what they R doing...e.g., U ask?...at COTA practice, Sauber was in the top ten...in Qualy they fall to the high teens...someone dropped the ball here for U would think they should at least hold their own if not better when setting up the car for Qualy
Now these comments R not "sour grapes" but simply an illustration of the ineptness of the racing staff...there R other examples but this tops the lot...for they could have easily passed Merc this year which is still possible but unlikely given their last couple of races.
To Kobay: Hope U make it to another team that is capable of maximizing the potential of the car on race day.

^ How official does it have to get before a person gets the message? Does it have to be written on golden tablets and wrapped up like a scroll to be official? For several months, this has been the scuttlebutt and Carlos Slim has made it clear that he wants more Mexicans in motorsport. Sauber is a perfect fit for Gutierrez. I am not saying that that is fair to Kobay as it is not. However, F1 today is all about money and power. If you have the talent like Hamilton, Alonso, Vettel or Raikkonen, you will be handsomely for your skills. If your talent is mediocre, then you may have to bring funds to the table. As I previously said, Paul Hembery has offered a tire testing contract to Kobay and given the dearth of rides out there, I bet he takes it to stay involved. He may also sign with Toyota for their LeMans program as well.
Unless he can pull a Hulkenburg and take a year off with Force India then come back but I doubt it. We'll most likely see him join the Toyota Le Mans program for next year. Also worth mentioning is that Esteban said himself that he may not be ready for F1 yet, and I agree, Sauber definitely pushed him in very fast, he only had one practice session for himself? Gotta agree with Ken here and say that the Hulk will be the only one representing Sauber next year. Also I really wonder who's gonna get that last Force India seat... We all know Bottas will replace Senna at Williams but who will Force India bring in? Better not be Adrian Sutil, I hate that guy
hmm... interesting quali. if only McLaren was this strong through out the season, then Hami would still be a contender for the championship and it would be a three way battle to the end.
wonder if Ferrari will break the seal on Massa's tranny again to move Alonso up the grid

Ken should love this. Kobay has set up a website for his fans to contribute to saving his career. Wonder how much money Ken will send to keep Kobay in a Marussia seat?
