Official 2012 Formula One Discussion Thread
so if massa was leading for the first few race of the 2013 season, would Ferrari let they race it out or make massa let alonso pass even though there's no clear sign of who's in the championship lead yet. or is alonso going to be a big cry baby like when hamilton was challenging him at McLaren.
Redbull doesn't have a long history in motor sport, and they're not a car builder. they'll only be in F1 as long as it can benefit them in exposure, and there's no better way to get exposure than F1. they are very active with any form of extreme sports, Redbull is in every sports that you can think off.

Then he is challenging vettel later on in the race going into t1....wtf
webber is a fkn loooser.
IMO, it's webber who put vettel into the $hit, prior to vettel incident ~t4 lap 1....although i have to admit, it looked like vettel just simply shut the door on who ever was inside of him... Regardless, webber had his hand in the mix for setting that scenario up imo.
I couldnt aggree with you more... However, which move are you referring too? That $hit head decided to pinch his teamamte going into t1-lap1 while allowing a ferrari to go unchallenged on the outside
WTF...

What really get's me, is the "air" in which he said he wouldnt help vettel. it appeared to me as if he would do something dodgy & the fkr did = lap1 t1. As they were going into t1, webbers comment about how he wouldnt help his teammate flashed before my eyes.

Well, it just doesn't end. Ferrari has lodged a protest with the FIA to overturn Seb's championship, claiming that the pass by Seb on Kobay was illegal. This would give a 20 second penalty to Seb, which would place him in 8th position, giving the championship to Fred by one point. Alonso seems to be the impetus behind this. Sorry, but Ferrari and Alonso sicken me even more than they do already.

Just read the article,
"The footage, from Vettel's on-board camera, appears to show the German passing Toro Rosso's Jean-Eric Vergne in a yellow 'caution' zone."
Wow ... could you imagine if the protest is up held?
OTOH, Vettel should probably personally thank Kimi for taking Alonso out during the start of the race @ Suzuka
As for Hulk's wet wing setup, the McLaren's also had their wet wing setup during the race. So I think its still impressive that the Hulk was able to keep up with the McLaren with the slow turd (FI).

Oh ****
"The footage shows Vettel passing two flashing yellow lights then overtaking Vergne down the straight, completing the move before reaching a flashing green light, indicating the end of the yellow zone.
Rules dictate that the 'yellow' zone ends only when the driver passes the first 'green' indicator.
Drivers are alerted to caution zones by an indicator on their car's dashboard display.
The yellow flag indicator in Vettel's cockpit is on the whole time."
EDIT - And here's the shot of the flag. Looks like VET is ok based on that:

I follow Fred on Twitter... I never saw any post where he was claiming protest like that story says. From what I understand, it is not protestable (is that a word?) anyways...
Speed and SkySportsF1, F1Pulse picked the story as well as the BBC, which first mentioned this.

http://www1.skysports.com/formula-1/...ettel-overtake
http://www.f1pulse.com/news/20121129...n-title-tables
However, ESPNF1,SkySportsF1, GPUpdate and the BBC are running stories that the FIA has deemed the pass legal.

Here again is the original story in the BBC where they are the ones who mentioned that Fred was pushing for the protest: http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/formula1/20531638
I am not sure how reliable the BBC is when it comes to items like this. David Coulthard and Eddie Jordan are with the broadcast team. Jordan has shown in the past that he is quite the sensationalist when it comes to journalism, so perhaps it undercuts the story.
At this point, it would appear that the pass is legal in the eyes of the FIA and all Ferrari can do is lodge a protest, which will be duly noted.

First things first...Vettel has won...no infraction according to Whitting...now to the important stuff... Maybe, Maybe Kobay and Lotus: "Writing in Turun Sanomat, journalist Heikki Kulta said Lotus owner Gerard Lopez is wondering if having a more consistent driver alongside Raikkonen would be a wiser choice in terms of securing a more lucrative position in the constructors' world championship...[and] wrote that Japanese Kobayashi, who has been raising money via a support website to contribute to a 2013 employer, has entered the frame [fray] at Lotus after losing his Sauber seat to Esteban Gutierrez."...Lotus "deciders" do the right thing...dump Grosjean and sign Kobay!
Later, Ken
Later, Ken
