Is that the explorer with the ecoboost v6? I was curious how they handled a trailer.

It is; and it tows pretty well. There is more than enough power for towing this setup; it's the same motor as in the trucks mounted transversally instead of longitudinally.

I've moved my 24' Formula a few times with it as well and I'm sure that's more than the evo/trailer. I know with my evo on the back, this setup is probably slightly over the 5k max tow capacity, but it handled just fine. The trailer is equipped with electric brakes on both axels, and I was running a brake controller.

05 Jeep liberty crd. Has upgraded torque converter, trans cooler, full exhaust and a hot tune. This was a test to see how I like towing the car on a dolly(yes I un-bolted the drive shaft at the rear diff). Weight of the car and dolly was 4,078lbs. I was able to get 20.1mpg round trip. Not sure if I like towing with a dolly or not. Sucks not being able to back up.

Do you have to remove the front bumper on Evo with Stock suspension on enclosed trailer?

Not normally unless your at a super odd angle. And even then you can level things out with wood/ramps or what not.

So I've been towing my Evo with my work truck with no issues. Its a 2002 1500 Silverado long bed with a 5.3 V8.
I added rear leaf springs to reduce squat, poly bushings, derale trans cooler, and an 8000lb hitch.

Power is ok, but stabilty was lacking.

Unfortunately it died yesterday due to a failed fuel pump and since I need to my truck to work I decided to buy a new one.

Its a 2014 GMC Sierra SLE 2500 HD with the 6.0 V8. It has a 13000lb tow rating which is more than enough. It came with a trailering package, so Anti Sway, trans cooler, oil cooler, brake controller, and all that good stuff. Hitch that came with it is rated at 18000 lbs.

I almost got a diesel but it was 10K more and the two rating is the same with the regular hitch. With a gooseneck the diesel can tow 3000 more.

For what it needs to be this truck is perfect, I couldn't be more excited to tow my evo to the track.

This weekend likely, ima bring it home to start doing shelving and winch. Or do the control arms and alignment. STILL haven't heard anything from R/T on arms....

I just picked up a 2000 Chevy Tahoe with the 5.3l V8 for a tow vehicle/winter DD. I'm new to the truck game, but I'm sure it'll haul the X just fine... anyone here have experience with that combo, good or bad?

I don't have a trailer yet, but hoping to get an enclosed one early next year.
