if like to remove it but I’m nervous the bumper would sag without it. What do the JDM cars do without it?
my car never had it and I had no problems because of it.. EUDM/JDM bumper has a small steel edge piece inside and hooks onto two hangers that protrude each side of the IC..

cant you use your splitter to un-sag it. mine sags (frrom hitting cones) at the headlights so I put thick insulating foam between the IC pipe and the bumper skin, plus I still use the bottom cover (no splitter)
here.. you can see the reenforcement on the bumper and where it hooks into the bumper mount that bolts to the chassis instead of the crash bar on the US cars...
@Meathooker gotta ask, how do I split up my ATI damper? I removed all the bolts but its still one piece. I'm trying to replace my timing belt, crank sensor and tensioner. TIA

we’ve never split our ATI damper, only taken it off

hmm i dont think you can install the cover or adjust belt tension. I know I cant . this is my first time dealing with this. anyway I finally found some proof to me that it splits up (not in english tho).
You can take the damper off the hub. Usually just minor prying gets it off. If you need to take the hub off the crank, it's pressed on so you'll need a harmonic balancer puller, and then an installer to put if back on.

I did accidentally pulled the whole thing out since I could only find videos with Honda motors
btw i broke 2 Continental serpentine belts back to back. now I'm finding lots of strings and fibers inside my front cover. I have an AC compressor that was acting up
