It's the "SE" version.

RHDJapan has better pricing and reasonable shipping rates.

Anyone here purchased from RHD Japan? They have a few shipping options ranging from DHL to Fedex to EMS (Express Mail Service) Seems those prices are similar so curious what is the safest option?

Also, regarding the Blitz intercooler mentioned above, it is indeed wicked cheap on RHD Japan however looking at the dimensions its also quite small Core Size: 266 x 610 x 68mm.

Depending on folks power levels in here Im not sure itll fit the bill for many...

Anyone pushing a small turbo on one? Maybe we can search for some dyno results here. But you're right, we make about 500whp on a relatively small turbo (BBK Full BB but the blouch version). We also have the advantage of being able to spray IC between runs.

I've ordered from RHDJapan a couple times. They are quite responsive via email. I ordered smaller items that were in stock so there wasn't a long delay.

I don't know what it will be like to order something that has to be built to order or is not in stock.

^Thanks for the feedback on them; good to know!

Regarding the Blitz intercooler quite frankly I don't see it being much better than the OEM intercooler. Yeah I spray my intercooler off after each run just bc I can but Id much prefer to have something that is matched accordingly so I don't run the risk of heat soaking it. My setup stock bottom end still with a JB BBK Full running 30 31#ish at peak means that snail is working decently hard as well and not sure I feel comfortable with a unit that small.

Im more tempted by the Plazmaman units I posted about above but would love to get some personal feedback coming from someone currently using one...

Not for nothing but Im also seeing different supposed Blitz intercoolers on various websites where the pricing is all over the map as in some coming in around $1000 and more. Ill add a link here when I have a moment but I know I saw 2 units on Vivid Racing's website yesterday one for around 1000 and the other 1500. Curious which specific ones those are and the details of them.

Tube/fin coolers are a disadvantage in almost every way except weight. And in the case of the blitz, it might only be lighter because it is simply smaller. Combine that with the lack of info on how much power it an support, and only saving about 10lbs, I'll pass.

First of all only 10# hanging off the nose of the car!? Thats significant any way you slice it. I will agree that I dont think the Blitz unit seems all that impressive and it's partially light bc its so small.

But there are other advantages to tube and fin vs bar and plate aside from weight. Its all a compromise. Now I will say this shouldnt apply to auto-x cars but from a cooling perspective sometimes bar and plate intercoolers are so dense that they dont allow proper air flow to the radiator. Also, once you heat soak a bar and plate intercooler its harder to cool it back down vs a tube and fin where it'll come cool off quicker. If youre solely looking at IAT pre and post intercooler typically a bar and plate will have better cooling but theyre also typically far denser. I think like most things its a compromise and IMO if I can get an intercooler than can support my car's power level and its lighter then Im all for it.

My car has no issues with water temp's running a stock radiator with an ETS 3.5" intercooler running 25psi at the track.

for what its worth, SETRAB USA has a clearence sale of some really nice IC cores.. tube and fin...

we have been using some cheap, but well engineered, tube and fin cores that work extremely well on a 2.0 with hks turbo.. the only problem with cheap chinese ICs is that they use cast end tanks that are heavy..

Dude I bet thats where Plazmaman sources their intercooler cores from as there was mention of a US supplier. So which core size do you use?

Thats sorta tempting granted I can't weld AL unfortunately so I'd need to find a competent fabricator to make end tanks for me...

I'm in for a group buy if anyone was serious about it.

I'm going to be running stock turbo and maybe one day an FP Green. I think the blitz would be a good match for stock turbo applications or similar size. Which I believe I read was Blitz's recommendations for the core as well. But I agree there is limited data on them.

I'm at 350whp on pump and 450 e85. I only do one or two hot laps with the 450, so I'd imagine the Blitz would be okay. I'd like to test one and see.

As I said I was running it at 330whpish in Florida summer heat and it was a noticeable improvement. I don't think this is an intercooler for big turbo guys, but stock or stockish turbo it seems great. It's not massive compared to stock but it is bigger and cools better. If posting pictures here wasn't such a pain I'd send some comparison pics.

Also I think I've purchased the last two that were in the U.S. so sorry about that guys...
