If posting pictures here wasn't such a pain I'd send some comparison pics.

Also I think I've purchased the last two that were in the U.S. so sorry about that guys...
Please do upload pics. Ive not had a lot of success finding actual images of the evo specific core on a car and vs OEM.

I can upload for you if you want to email them to me.

Do you have a link? I can't find one.

Hey get outa here I called dibz

On second thought, assuming those quantities are still current which according to the date, I don't believe they would be but nonetheless, Im not sure any of those core sizes would be ideal. The closest I think would be the 58-60012-90 but at 8" tall I feel like that seems kinda short off the top of my head.

The amount of work it would take to making something good would certainly be more costly than just buying an available intercooler.

Yeah most likely. However if it can be built to my specs then the cost might be justified. Or even better I pick up an AC Tig machine and build it myself. But lets be real here the progression would be more like buy machine practice for the next couple years at least and then maybe I'd be able to build an intercooler of quality.

I wonder if there are decent cast end tanks available to purchase? That would certainly cut down on the fab costs but of course now the cost is built into the cost of the end tanks.

Hah that sounds like what I did. "I don't like available options because they cost Y, so I'm going to take a couple years learning and spend 5-10 times Y and do it myself!

Obviously the correct choice is, Get the TIG!

I bought a welder once.. then returned it for certain reasons. I should have kept it and learned. It's the ONE thing I really need on a regular basis.

I have a mig that gets the job done but I really think the next tool upgrade is to replace it with a small AC/DC tig. I need it for the tube on the trailing arm for my control arm anyways, so business writeoff anyways .

iv'e been on the fence about picking up an Everlast 210ext

http://www.everlastgenerators.com/pr...wertig-210-ext

I hear good things about it, specs look great, just wondering if i will regret not spending more and getting a Miller.

I've got a Lincoln Powermig 210 which thus far has been an awesome machine. Its a multiprocess unit however unfortunately the TIG outfit is DC only so that wont work for AL. I can get a spoolgun for it and do AL but a little birdie tells me that would be better suited for thicker stuff so I've come to the conclusion that Im better off buying a dedicated AC TIG machine to handle the AL. But I will say the Powermig is a great MIG welder so not all is lost.

we have the syncro 350's at work that are super nice but also expensive and take 3phase.

My dad has an old Miller MIG from the 80's. It doesn't even have an intermittent fan...LOL. I put a new lead on it for him last year because the old one wasn't feeding well. Other than that the thing just keeps on going. I'll have to see what model it is when I get home. It's a beast. Welds 3/8 steel plate on like the middle power setting LOL.
