Mike, the code is as follows:

P0301 - Misfire Detected - Cylinder 1

I know we changed the spark plugs when we did my 30k miles service. I'm assuming that could be the issue?

Saber, mix a little grape soda in with your engine oil. It will clear that code right away.

haha. Let me get right on that. I'd give that a try for ****s and giggles when I had a 99 Eclipse. But when talking about a 20k+ car, I'll defer.

So just clear the code and not worry?

I'm afraid more of that would make it into my system than the car's.

good luck man, might wanna take it somewhere..

So this year, more than others my heater has really been terrible in the car. Is this normal for you guys too on the really cold days? Even when my car is fully warm, it feels like the air coming out is barely warmer than the ambient temp in the cabin of the car. Anyone ever heard of the heater cores going bad? I am at a loss of what else it could be, only way it gets hot is to put it all the way to red and have it recirculate, but then the windows fog up like crazy. In the summer the AC works like a champ, but in the winter the heater blows, it never works and even after driving for 2 hours, it is barely putting out anything near hot.

Any ideas?

I know this doesnt necessarily help you but my IX MR was one of the best heaters I've had in a car. Last year at the snow cross it was negative temps outside all day long and i had the car idling most of the day with the heater fan on low and it was fine. Even shutting the car off for lunch for an hour, after coming back and starting it up, it blew hot enough within minutes that i could turn it back down to low.

Anyone ever heard of the heater core going bad? Maybe Mike can chime in on this. Something has to be wrong, I can let it warm up for 30 mins outside and on full blast heat, and it doesn't do ****.

I am freezing my *** off

that sucks man, mine gets hot as hell.. might wanna check the thermo first? and maybe go buy one that has a higher temp rating.

Think the dash needs pulled if the core goes bad, but might wanna talk to the dealer first.

i came out after work today and the car wouldn't turn over, had to get it jumped. damn cold days and 4+ year old batteries. hopefully they will perfect zero point energy sometime soon and i will never have to worry about this again.
