Jim, I would go the cheap route to for now. If you want to upgrade later on you still can, just save up the money for it. Thats an expensive repair to just have dropped on your lap. I know my wife wouldn't be very crazy about that idea. Also, I wouldnt' be surprised if both you and Marc are on the roadbefore me. This whole ordeal seems like it just drags on and on...

Chu, nice choice on the S1's. People seem to really like those cams. Get that thing all put back together and tuned. Tell the fam to get over it... If I have to miss the race at Spa (I hate not watching it live) then you can miss whatever they have planned.

Marc, I agree about us all staying in BSP. We make up a good bit of the class and its not like were going to complain about each other. Evo's runnin that *itch. Happy birthday to Luke as well. Tell him this is from me... (he's old enough right?)

Doug, I don't know about your competition... I feel like Chu and I may be at a bit of a disadvantage. I'm always game for a challenge though... bring it girls!

On to I was drinking Bells Double Hearted Ale last night. *hit f*cked me up. I only had 3 in about 2hrs or so. My head hurts now... Good stuff though, I highly recommend it.

I agree with Marc. I like the camaraderie we have going in BSP. Since I'm not competitive, I don't think anyone is going to give me any troubles. I'll make the move to SM next year. Pete, I have been at a disadvantage with you guys in the hp dept. since I was tuned on stock boost level with only intake and exhaust up until now. I'm a good 50hp behind Doug, and we were tuned on the same dyno.

I think my car will have gotten a little more competitive in BSP since the last time out.

See everyone on the 30th.

do any of you guys ride bikes? as in the two wheeled things with motors not rocking scwhinns... im saving up to get a bike for next yr to compliment the evo and am getting stuck need some opinions.

jim sorry to hear about your car. my first instinct would be to do it right the first time since you got that other beater, but that would mean your race season is done and your car is outa commission til winter. i agree with pete you could always get the oem real cheap and then worry about doing it big later. just stopping running such good times at the track!

Well yea agreed I like being able to run with everyone, but it seems that most of us are cammed now with some other illegal bits and pieces for BSP. Assuming we all make the move up then the love continues

Chu you already tuned then after the cam and gear install?

Here's the new color I went with on my valve cover. It's a silver vein with a translucent red and gloss clear over that. It was a LOT of work but it looks great. Opinions? I've changed theh color 5 times now but this is my favorite by far. The turbo is almost installed but it looks like i have to do a bit more machining on the hotside to keep the O2 housing from touching my A/C compressor. Maybe it'll be done Monday night. I'm off to go drink the night away with some friends and neighbors.

Yes, LOOKS like. Sadly it is a knockoff but eventually it will be a nicer one. I just didn't want to go with a straight bolt on turbo upgrade but were finishing the basement so I couldn't afford something expensive (and I'm impatient so saving up was not happening). The whole thing cost like $800 complete and should put down something in the 450-500 WHP range on pump without breaking a sweat. It looks like I could squeeze around 600 with this turbo if I pushed it. they flow 60-62 lbs a minute.

I know someone else running the same "fullrace" manifold, haven't had a problem yet.

I had my old SC61 on one for over 3K miles and never had a problem either. To be fair though the quality does suck. Fullrace makes an infinitely better product. There's a reason you pay that high a price. This one required a ton of fabrication to get the DP to fit and the insides of the primaries were full of crap that could easily have taken out my turbo had I not had access to a machine shop to remove it. The stainless steel they use is high quality though. It's 304 grade from what I can see which is standard. The welds are also very nice and clearly not done by a hack. The flange is not stainless which means it'll rust and the bond between the primaries and flange will eventually break down and they'll crack. But for $175 it was worth it if it lasts a year or so. I can TIG fairly well so I'll add some bracing to the mani and I'm making a bracket to hold the turbo to the block.
